and no, I don't sell those little boxes. I'm just adding this freaking number in that has called me 4 times in the last two days and never talks to me. I come on here, check out if others are experiencing the same, and then use the block box.

850-688-9899 - Called three times this afternoon/evening, left just dead air messages on the answering machine.  Also, I have a call from 239-324-4841, which came in 1 minute after the last call from the 850 number about three minutes ago.  Probably from the same company... It is, BTW, election season again.

They sure are busy calling from that number tonight!

After calling three times in less than two hours, I finally decided to pick up the phone to see what this was.  It's an automated political survey, no live person at the other end.  The first few questions of the survey are (paraphrased, might not be the exact wording):
1) If the election were being held today, who would you vote for? 1- Rick Scott, 2-Charlie Christ, 3- Don't know
2) In your opinion, has Florida's economy for you under Governor Scott: 1-improved, 2-gotten worse, 3-stayed the same?
3) Is Governor Scott's role in Florida's recovery: 1-very positive, 2-somewhat positive, 3-somewhat negative, 4-very negative?

At this point, between the types of questions being asked and the fact that the call originated in Tallahassee, I was able to pretty much surmise that the survey was being done for Governor Scott's re-election campaign, and hung up.  I probably wasn't going to vote for him anyway, but after bothering me three times while I'm trying to eat supper, I have even less reason to vote for him.

Picked up the phone when a call came from this number just to see if anyone was there. A recorded message stated my name and then said "Josh" was calling wanting me to answer some questions about "issues facing Florida."  I am sure this is a BS survey that is actually meant to find live numbers and real people to sell to telemarketers, or something similar. I kept the phone off the hook until they hung up.

This number has come up on our home phone at least 6 times in the past 3 days, I don't answer it and they leave no message,  This is very anoying.

Have had this number call several times within the last few days. Answered it the last time they called and it was an automated political survey and the questions all involved Rick Scott. I promptly hung up without answering any of the questions. I don't know if this political survey is real or someone trying to get a hold of personal info, but I don't care, I just want them to stop calling!

Numerous calls over last 2 months - I have blocked this number.

800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

What you need to do is tell them you do not want to receive their calls, and make sure you do a opt out with all the political parties.  Then, if you receive calls, go that persons web site and under their contact us page, write them and tell them to place you on their internal dnc list and also there is a political do not call you can sign up for. I did and also tell them to use that list and give them the url for it. I have not gotten any calls for years now.  Not even political survey's.  So it does help to follow the steps.

many calls from this number each day - Cid says Florida but never leaves message, go figure. To top it off three have come in today (SUNDAY). Have not answered in past and do not intend to start. Some posts have linked Gov. Scott. I think his reelection forses should be made aware !!!!!

Got a call from this number today and it just said "FLORIDA" on the caller ID.

I did what I usually do to see if it's automated - I don't say hello. i just pick up the phone and sit there. If it's a live person or an old school robocall then they'll either say "Hello?" or just start their automated spiel.

But if it's one of the more modern robocallers it won't say anything until it gets a human voice on the other line first. So I say nothing and usually after a few seconds you hear a click and that ends that bot calling.

This one was different. I picked it up, said nothing, and it just...continued. No "click", but instead the dead silence on the other end just kept going.

So I took the phone to another room and left it there. When I came back 15 minutes later I heard the dial tone. If Rick Scott is really behind these he's doing a bang up job of getting people to not like him.

Call multiple times,  no message,  glad I have caller id,  I'm on the no call list but it doesn't help much.

good info but add if your in florida the dept of ag also has a dnc list its now free, it follows up on many local in state calls such as a/c repair co fined 1 in ft myers 6 k for repeted violations and th seized all his equipment and records a month later whe he tried to change names again this time they also revoked his a/c contracting license  he was also cheating customers.  \
florida law also changed on charities they can still call you but you may tell them to stop calling and they have to remove you from there lists. filed on one big org the state contacted them got a apology letter and no calls for 6 months so far. keep complaining,it gets results sometimes. now if we could only get a location for card services i get at least 15 call a week but spoofed numbers
