Called three times in an hour and a half. Left no message, called ID reads 850-688-9899

hi ya'all.
Today I got 2 of these calls, no message left. Jut the number. ID says:  Florida number is 850 688 9899. I agree with whoever said, (what do those companies gain out of this nonsense calling). What a hoot that we can band together and not answer our phones and spread the number around so all know what and what not to answer.

Something is not right about the calls coming from this number. People are reporting tons of calls from this number, repeatedly day after day. many are reporting automated messages (like me) or dead air space. One poster said that when he tried to return the call, he discovered that the area code for the phone number is really 239 and not 850. We have received many unidentified calls from the 239 area code in the past year and all have been proven to be SCAMS, eventually. Different people are receiving different information from this number: collection agency trying to verify the residence of specific people, sales rep for Cadillac Escalade, a company called Usonia Reseach and a survey of issues that are pertinent to Florida residents. I looked for a Usonia Research in Florida but didn't find one. Only found a Usonia Group in Seattle Washington. SCAMMERS We really need to NOT believe what we see in our caller ID anymore. This call could be coming from anywhere.

I agree WHOLHEARTEDLY!!!!!    These telemarketers and politician calls are getting worse and worse!  I'm just about ready to disconnect my landline beause I am so sick of getting these phone calls!  Not to mention when you call for customer service it is usually a recorded call or somebody from India.  PLEASE STOP!!!

HaHa!  I saw these dung puppoes robo called me again.  Too bad, since I have already blocked your worthless crack-infested brains (or lack therof).  I'm guessing the CEO of this bogus company needs to run back to his Hillbilly heaven and see if he can hook back up with those farm animals he was humping before he turned to this life of crime!

8/21/14 When I came back home, the answering machine was blinking so I played the messages. There were three calls from this number, at 5:48pm, 7:00pm and 7:45pm. They did not leave a message, and there was no ID in the display. My phone company has selective phone blocking so this number 850-688-9899 will be added to it.

850-688-9899 is still blocked, lights up my phone, but doesn't even ring.  You and all the employees of your call center are a bunch of worthless piles of elephant dung.  Call all you like...you're never gonna get through!  [***].

Multiple calls daily

don't pick up the phone.  if you pick up, then you let the scammer know that your phone line is "active".  if you don't
pick up, the phone calls will stop in a week or so.

8 robo calls a day. Every day. We are on the national do not call list.

Calls us twice a day and hangs up on our answering machine.  Really annoying.

850-688-9899 Keeps calling about 5x day. Comes up on caller ID.  Refuse to answer it or even call it back.

This is ALL TRUE...it just happened!!

I may have gotten some retribution. I called the number back, it asked for the extension # I was trying to call, it took several tries but the last group of 3 numbers I dialed were(I think) 4-5-6 or 7-8-9 and it asked if I had a FAX number (I pressed 1 for yes) and put in the Robo call number 850-688-9899!!!!! It asked to confirm number (1 for yes) and message said it would send me a Fax within (30 sec or 3 min!!!) I can't recall because I was astounded. I hope the POS company/person gets THEIR number tied up with THEIR OWN Robo calls/faxes.

The Do Not Call List law is a list of phone numbers where the owner does not want telemarketing calls and a law banning calls to those numbers.  For a scammer its one more law to break.  

Many of the scam calls come from countries where scamming dumb Americans is not a crime and the local police do not cooperate with police from the US.  They cannot be stopped.  Your best bet is to block the calls.  Ask your phone company how.  If they can't help you you can buy a call blocker for your land line.  For your cell phone you can download a call-blocker ap, or you can put the pest in your contacts list and assign them the ring tone "no ring".  That won't stop the calls but it will make them easier to ignore.

Thanks for the education. I finally feed like I have some recourse to the unbelievable disruptive annoyance.

I have received over 8 to 10 calls from this number 850 688 9899    when I looked up reverse phone number this is what I got: ININTERMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS INC. - FL  Location:    TALLAHASSEE, FL  
the number could be stolen or it could be POLITICIANS -- because we just had local election.... since the Election is over the calls have stopped.  Still very rude all the way around.
