Same woman calling from (855) 206-8521 "Emily Dickson" who called the day before, only using the name "Sarah Hoffman". If legit, wouldn't need to use fake names. Never called them back but I assume it is a scam.

We were left a voice message on our landline, on July 1, 2016, at 10:12am. The message was a recording of a woman with a southern accent, and most of the message couldn't be discerned. A dubbed-in name was also difficult to discern: possibly "Earnest Statum". We were told to contact "Sarah Huffman" or "Hoffman" at 855-208-0269, because of a "formal complaint", and if we didn't call, legal action would be taken against us. This was obviously a scam, and nothing more specific than what I just mentioned was ever relayed.

Something or other, saying that legal action would be taken for some formal complaint, and something about showing up at workplace.  blah, blah, blah.....  Money extortion scam. Don't believe them.

I've gotten multiple calls from 855-208-0269. Like the rest of the people above, I've gotten the same message: To contact Sarah Hoffman at the number that called due to a formal complaint received due to a service of process incompleted… or some bullsh*t like that. They also mentioned a name "Joel Bradwell" and the message was regarding him. If you ever receive this call, or in fact any suspicious calls like these, my best advice is to just ignore it because it's probably a scam anyway.

I got a call on the cell from a Sarah Huffsman saying Christina someone had a formal complaint against her. I don't know a Christina and the woman sounded arrogant. From the complaints I see above, these scammers are random dialing threatening fake lawsuits hoping you'll call back.

They called my ex-husband and said they needed to contact me a.s.a.p. I called the # back and talked to a Lee who said he was with Cardnal Group Legal Firm. That they where going to take legal action against me for a Loan that I got from Sand Point Capital off the Internet. Not sure where this was coming from, but I owe no one... They would not give me any information about this so called loan. Now they are leaving messages on my boyfriends home phone, (the phone number I used to call them) This is a scam.... Do not reply.

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.  Please note that process servers do not ever call ahead.  That way you can’t dodge them.

This Sandpoint Capital entity  is often used by debt scammers as a kind of zombie or nonexistent creditor.  Carnal Group Legal Firm,  in one name variation or another.  has an extensive history on 800notes for debt scamming.  Ignore and block any call claiming to represent a debt connected to these groups.
