Yes from a man named Paul Trotter, he says he is called in an attempt to resolve a matter and I need to call or they will take into consideration that I have no intent to resolve the matter.  I dont owe anyone and I am tired of them calling so i ignor the call.

They called my house today left a message on our answering machine for my Boyfriend.  IF it were a real debt collector they would not be calling and leaving messages on an Answering Machine as that is against the law. Especially when the answering machine message is a Generic message with a female voice.  How do they even know they reached the correct number??  It is more than likely a Scam.  We have gotten calls from similar phone numbers before that were a scam.  So, best to ignore it!

The number on my caller ID says toll free call, but when I tried to call it, my phone company wouldn't let the call go through. I have long distance blocked on my phone. I suspect it may be one of those numbers that get you to spend LOTS of money on the call? I have received MANY calls from this Paul Trotter ass!

I got a call from them, yesterday.  His name was Bob.  I asked what the nature of call and he said I owed a payday loan.  He said when you borrow money..pay it back!  I said everybody knows that and payday companies are always scamming people.  He got mad.  I asked what is the name of the company and he said Summit.  I told him that I never got a loan from them and he just said "well, I'll see you in court,"and slammed the phone and hung up on me!  He didn't give me any details he had on file.  Who does that?

I keep getting a call from a Chris Shultz from 855-208-3465 stating i need to call him regarding a matter, not sure what, or criminal charges will be filed against me..

called saying my son owed a payday loan but then quickly said that it was not exactly a payday loan and that he walked into a store and presented 2 pieces of ID to get the money.

Got a voice mail from Robert Norton that an accusation was made against me with my name, ssn adn my address.  I have until 6pm tp return the call or he will have to report me as non-compliant in regards to the investigation.  I have to call 855-208-3465 and then we wished me the best of luck.

I am tempted to call back and extract info without giving info.  Also, If this was for real, I am sure I would have been arrested or charged or have some sort of incling of this.

Will be adding this number to my call block list.

I've received calls from Paul Trotter and Tim Dockens - both saying that I'd be criminally charged if I didn't call them to pay back this debt immediately.  Said they were calling from the XXX County Courthouse and a Police Officer would be out shortly to arrest me.  Okay - do they not realize that you cannot arrest someone for a debt?  And, that it's illegal to say your from somewhere else or to say that you're going to have some arrested for owing a debt in order to scare them into paying something?  They will not release the name or amount of original debt (which means there isn't one) which is also against FTC regulations.  And, if you bring that up, they get furious and start screaming at you.  Soooo very professional.  Morons.

And, they frequently change phone numbers, too.  And, by not giving out a company name, the FTC complaints department cannot chase them down.

There is no truth to this. I have investigated this company and it is a bunch of thugs muscleing people. It is being run out of a building at 85 lake avenue in Blasdale NY. Owner of building Dennis. When i called there numerous times I ask for adress and they refuse. You can contact the New York State Attorney General to report them. I am currently seeking an Attorney in Buffalo possibly Kenneth Hilliard to file class action suit so all those interested let me know. According to information from Attorney Generals office they have names of individuals operating 3 different businesses under one roof. As more information is gathered I will inform all.

called my mom and told HER she had a matter she needed to address. My parents OWN everything they have.

He gave his name as MOORE. Twice he told my mom to  "I think you need to shut your mouth." "don't get smart with me"  my mom never raised her voice.  After telling MR.Moore that she owed nothing his reply was "why don't you shut your F*****G mouth."  My mom just hung up.  HE never gave her the name of who he was calling for or specifically what it was for.

Again they never told who they were calling for or why.

He has nothing on file.  He is just a low life sewer sucking scammer trying to use threats and intimidation to extory a buck.

Did he mention to whom he was going to report you to for being non-compliant?   Perhaps the "Federal Non-compliant Department"!!!!    Gosh I hope not.....I understand they will threaten to serve you with non-compliant papers to go to court within the hour,  and wish you the best of luck.   Gosh,  I do hate them so much....

I had the exact same message on my machine. I didn't get the message until 2 days later. I guess I missed the 6pm deadline. Now I'm living in fear that I will be arrested...NOT!

This is a scam.  A simple extortion attempt via random dialing on cell phones.
This is an example of a social engineering attempt - it is called IVR or phone phishing (Vishing).

Here are some key points that should arouse suspicion:
1) gives a name but no agency or any other ID
2) specifically references a social security number - always a no-no for real professionals
3) Does not say what jursidictional body the 'complaint' will be lodged with
4)tries to instill a sense of 'urgency' by demaning a callback in an unreasonably short time "you have until 6pm"
5) carries an implied threat of 'non-compliance' and 'uncooperative'
6) the 'good luck' at the end of call is a blatant attempt to be friends, as if he is rooting for you.

Also, in the message brught to me, you can hear a 'synthetic' quality to the voice indicating that an attempt has been made to alter the voice so that voiseprints cannot be relaibly taken.

Andi,  he has now changed his name to Robert Norton and leaves the same message but at the end of the message say he wished me the best. First of all if you are calling from a business they should first of all tell the people in the background to stop laughing, joking and playing. But i ignore it because I know I dont owe anyone..
