- LOVEBUG| 3 repliesI get calls from this 855-208-7341 number and they harasse me but want me return the call to 716- number. I just let my voice mail pick it up and saveing them for the A.G.O. I don't think R-L Captial is a legal company. 3 months I been getting final notices every day, they ask for information NO ONE gets. My bank account. That is my use only. They refuse to give me a mailing address. Why would I give them access to my account. They refuse to work a payment plan, Then, We have nothing to talk about

- Lacey P| 1 replySince about mid March R&L Capital has been calling me 2-3 times a day. It's always the same thing...my phone rings and its a pre-recorded message stating that they've tried reaching me several times and the my failure to co-operate with them will bring about legal action. I've received this call even after I have spoken to one of their representitives. And to top it off...this is for a bill that I have already settled. I gave them the contact information for the company that I dealt with and all they say is "well they stole your money, you still owe on this". Even after speaking with someone this morning telling them "fine take me to court" I still received another call saying i failed to contact them regarding this matter. Total scam.

- gs| 1 replyR&L Capital. Legitimate collection agency with shady tactics
I spoke with a man about a debt I knew of from fifth third bank. I paid off what I owes ($327) and 2 montgs later...BAM...they randomly charge my card $537. Going through disputes with my bank now
So...if you so pay them don't use your card or bank account. Pay with money order or a prepaid card that you don't use for anything else. They really screwed me over. - Ellen V. replies to gswhat makes them legitimate?

- nicki perry replies to LOVEBUG| 1 replyIve got the same call but they called my boyfriends phone asken for me foe a dept I owed fifth third bank 6 years ago which I dident even know my boyfriend 6 years ago and they were very rud to me on the phone and they also refused a payment plan inless I gave then a houndred dollors a week.
- Elspeth replies to nicki perryWhy would you pay them anything unless they sent you via mail proof that you owe the debt to them? DO NOT PAY THEM! If they were legitimate and working within the bounds of the FDCPA (read it and learn your rights), they would send you a debt validation letter proving you owe this debt to them and that they can legally collect said debt. Bottom line - if a caller refuses to send you documentation proving you owe them this debt (legally required per the FDCPA) - you owe them NOTHING.
Report the caller to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. Tell the caller that all calls they make to you are being monitored and recorded by the FBI (this may get them to quit calling). - Elspeth replies to Nicki perryActually, if you had had a overdraft fee, your bank would have sent you several letters at that time! NEVER pay someone unless they have mailed you proof you owe the debt to them. I would ask your bank to reverse the charges as fraudulent. Again - NEVER pay for a debt that has not been proven to be yours!
- april| 1 replyYay! Im not scared anymore. I spoke with an attorney and my bank president and both told me this is a scam and they got my info from a credit check website. I do hate how they are calling my clients phone tho bc I returned a call from their phone :(.

Mail has been returned as undeliverable several times. This is in regards to assets and employement verification (stated my name). It is extremely time sensitive and you must call back at 855-208-1888. The client wants to pursue this matter legally" I've worked for the same company for over 10 years...so I don't need to have employment verification. No company name was ever mentioned. Total scam...

- Strel replies to pain in the ButtI am an attorney for an NPO down in Florida.
This is a common scam I have seen many times - "I'm going to be there in half an hour with a sherrif's deputy."
Eh, no you aren't.
A quick way to get rid of them is to ask them if they are registered to serve process in your county with the sherrif's department or court. If they say "yes" tell them to stand by while you call and check their credentials.
At this point they typically hang up and you never hear from them again. - DogI just saw this popup on a friends computer w/ a virus, claiming it's a Microsoft help line !
