Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Did they send you that letter?  If you don't get it, that is their first FDCPA violation.  You need to communicate with them by certified, return receipt mail telling them to validate the debt.  They must by law stop calling you until they do.

Just received a call from these people.  I answered, and said "Hello?"  There was a 2 second pause, and a younger sounding gentleman says, "Good morning."  I replied, "Good morning."  He then hangs up.

I am getting multiple calls daily from this company.  They try early in the morning - 8AM, again in the afternoon 2-3PM, and again late at night, 8-9PM.  It's on my cellphone.  I do not answer.  I have "do not disturb" activated and only allow the phone to ring if that number is marked as a "favorite" in my contacts list.  But this caller will not give up.

I have received 50 calls from this number in 31 days.  I called and asked that my number be removed from their calling list.  The person who answered the phone said, "Have a nice day," and hung up on me.  I called back with the same request.  The same guy said, "You just called, have a nice day," and hung up on me again.  50 calls day and night, in 31 days seems to qualify as harassment.

they call twice a day every damn day and never leave a message. you would think that a legitimate debt collector would either leave a message or send some kind of correspondence by mail. smh harassment at its finest. just ended up blocking their number from being able to call until they leave a message stating who they are and who they are trying to reach.
