Yup and yup to all of the above! I'm glad that the Internet exists for this very reason! I'm going to contact the U.S. Postal Service Fraud Inspection and fill out the online form about these guys. After all, these jokers used the U.S. Mail and put some kind of Postage Permit on the mailer. They shouldn't mess with people who don't work because we have a lot of time to pursue jerks like these.

I had to take a double-take to suspect fraud that, thanks to you, I've just confirmed.

As did most of the previous posters I received a mailing from these people. I have an extended warranty so I wouldn't be interested, however I did find it problematic that someone who hasn't got the good sense to recognize a scam to be stampeded into calling these thieves. Where's the government when you need information. I hope that "jee" does talk with the postal service to bring it to their attention.

I got a mailer with no return address and decided to open it because i thought it would be a check or something. yea, that was a mistake...no company name except for the name "Gurdian" in smallll letters. This is a scam so don't worry too much about it. For fun, try calling them and give them some bullcrap information and see what happens.

My Mailer arrived saying 2nd Attempt with no return address and a lovely legal warning against opening mail that isn't addressed to you on the front. The phone number is the only method of contact, and of course there is no price listed for anything. I typed the phone number into my search bar and am not at all surprised to be here. Into the shredder it goes! Thank you :)

I got the same thing in the mail not too long ago. I don't exactly check my mail regularly and the 'reply immediately by this date' date had already come and gone (oh well!). But I do love how you can just punch in a phone number and get information. Where was this technology a decade or two ago? :) But yeah, asking online is often the best way to figure out if something is a scam or not. Suffice to say, I'm not going to respond to this one and it'll just go straight into recycling. What a waste of trees.

    Not stupid replies to Tony
I also got this same notice that my cars warranty had expired.  Just to have a little fun with them I called the number. I told them I wanted to extend my warranty. I said my car had 300000 miles on it and needed a new engine and transmission. Before I could finish my call they hung up on me. lol. If you think for one moment this is real just read all the replies on this site.

Same here. Received a very "official" looking notice calling for a "REQUEST FOR ACTION"

Included this ridiculous statement above my address: WARNING: $2000 FINE, 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH FOR ANY PERSON INTERFERING OR OBSTRUCTING WITH DELIVERY OF THIS LETTER U.S. MAIL. TTT.18 U.S. CODE.

Scary that they have my name, address and car info. Either the car dealer or the bank I took a loan through shared my information. That's unfortunate. Seems you can't trust anyone with your information anymore.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who shared all the info found here. I too will be shredding this junk mail.

Got a mailing also with this number, it says "2nd Attempt to contact" on the outside of the envelope, making it look like it's extremely urgent, before opening it I really thought "What happened", once I opened it it pisses me off totally. It has my car's basic info.  I am wondering if the root cause of this is the Car manufacturer or dealership sold our information to Guardian, is there any way to STOP this from the source??  Even if this is legit, I don't think I'd trust them by the way they attract customers.

I just received the same mailer and my car came with a 3 year warranty and I bought an additional 2 years and my car is 1 year old with 5000 miles. I wondered and checked like you. They must've bought a list to scare us to buy their warranty. Thanks for posting.

I just filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org).
Right now they have a rating of B-. I am sure if everyone who posted here would file a claim with the BBB their rating would tank.

Please file a claim. These kind of companies are a nuisance.

    Thank you

I have gotten 4 mailers. The 1st and 2nd mailers were for my 13 year old Honda. Get real.
The 2nd mailer was for my new car, so I threw it out. The 3rd one was "2nd Attempt. My vehicle is just under a year with under 6,000 miles. Most new cars have a 3 or 5 year or 60,000/100,000 warranty. Also, one can purchase extended warranty at the time of signing the contract. After reading the consumer complaint from a detective, he stated how verbally abusive the guy was. Also, other comments from auto repair, dealers, and customers of Guardian trying to get reimbursed for the costs.
As you so put so eloquently, "crock of [***]!" Thanks everybody!
