I do know that any attempt to collect a debt by insinuating that a court action ahs been warranted is illegal. If in fact a debt were collected it would be done so in a civil court and a summons or subpoena to court is required with your notice to appear on a specified date and time, and in a specific court. Any attempt for a collection agency to act as an attorney, or threaten you with lawsuit is illegal in Texas. Check with your states attorney general for further information

I was contacted today by someone named Brianna James she stated she bought the debt from a company in which I told her it was false and she proceeded to give me her extension and address and I also told her I will be contacting my attorney and the CPB and the FBI to file a complaint and sue the company.

They are threating my girl friend but when I call and ask for a buissines address they hang up on me. A legitimate buissines would give their address

Just reciebed a call from Forensic Check Services saying I owed money to Bayside loans. I did research and requested a debt validation letter. They told me it was beyond that and that they were going after me for bank and check fraud. This was for a payday loan that I did not pay back. Is this legal for them to say they are going to charge me with bank and check fraud for default on on a loan. The account they are talking about was closed. I even told the guy I researched this company and it was a debt collection agency. He yelled at me and said no we are not we go after people who commit check and bank fraud

Total scam.  No it isn't legal.   Being in default or an ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you can't be arrested for it.  Bank and check fraud are criminal matters and only the public prosecutor can file criminal charges.   Debt collectors can't file criminal charges, period.

This is a scam.  Ignore the calls.  Get a call blocker.
