Report them to your state attorney general's office.  The Arkansas AG has people that work on stopping these scammers, so I file a complaint everytime I can.

MOST legitimate collectors leave agency names

Attempted fraud call from 209-222-5534 telling me to call 855-317-9222.  Threatening me with actions that will affect my banking.

They said I had got a loan and need to pay back, or they will send me to court

I just now got a phone call and to be more terrifyed was that they had all my social security number

Received the same call.. sounded suspicious right away. I answered and just a recording telling me to call them back..

same threatening message, except they called from a local number, which is easily spoofed from anywhere if you have the right type of phone system... 919-228-9524 (cary, nc)

Received same call and the number was 404 341 0683. Calling for my mother is passed away on nov.4,2016. They also left this number to call 855 317 9222.. The name is apex resolution group.

Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.  You might have to block the entire 755 area code.  Your callers appear to be some sort of debt scamming operation.

Please read and memorize the following:

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

received 2nd message on phone past two weeks from above phone number.

Disabled veteran with no bank accounts here... however, supposedly it is a claim verifying a check, which I haven't used in over 9 years, and affects my banking. No banking here either, due to benefits as sole income to a debit card. Idiots. We need to put this douche in a burlap sack and take turns verifying his "checks"

I started receiving calls and leave messages but don't state the agency or name of the person calling. They say that they need information from me pertaining to a claim and that they need bank information because they will garnish my bank...
Real collection agencies or even lawyer offices state their name or company name. They also don't threaten you like that. Im getting the scammer vibe. If you don't state who you are, you don't get a call back from me.

Caller ID is 215-974-9151 but message says to call 855-317-9222. No mention of company name or claim number. Just that I've been named a person of interest in a claim and if I don't return the call immediately, I am subject to an employment verification, and check protest. This may affect any banking relationships I currently have. Scammers! I can't believe anyone still falls for this crap!!

I just got this same call. Debbie calling from ARG. She stated I needed to get in touch with them as soon asap that there was a prior absent liability search a check protest. She stated it would affect any checking account I have and once the process starts it can not be stopped. That there would be an employment verification and that they have full name and social security number .

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

just got call from them saying I  owed  a payday loan. Said they would settle for half the amount. never had loan,this is a SCAM.
