This won't stop them. I've done what you suggest. Yet, every time I advertise a rental property via a newspaper, these clowns call with a recorded message offering some stupid rental service. This has gone on for a number of years. They have even changed their number. I've complained online with the CRTC more than once, yet nothing.
Have much better results with the US DNCR for US calls to my US phones.

After placing an ad in the local newspaper, this bozo is calling me.

I just went to wal mart and got this lil kids whistle i taped the string to the phone in hall and when they call I give them an ear full so far some have quit calling. 2.79 for a whistle gives me a piece of mind and the pleasure to give it to them everyone calling me :-)

if they are calling numbers listed in paper then setup a 866 number with $24.99 fee per minute when they call. cash in on there stupidity.

keep calling them ask if there refrigerator running and they should run to caught it.

A tape called me about a property I advertised for rental. They suggested few numbers I should press depending on what I wanted to do. So I pressed 3 to speak to somebody. A lady answered and told me how she could rent my place for $ 90, But I started to ask her few questions she got very aggressive I found it reard for somebody saling a service to talk to me that way.  I ignored all her  offers and insisted for her to give me her call back number. I wanted to check out the site first. She was very pissed at me and finally she gave me 1855 323 2828.
When I put it on internet it gave me your interesting comments, Surely I WILL NOT CALL BACK!

In general, I don't deal with people calling me. I always take the number and call back if I am interested. Just to make sure they are real and in case there is a problem later (over charge for example) I will be able to reached them  also..

This number calls me and my family members and leaves differnt voicmails. Are they so stupid to think people don't have caller ID on there phones really.
