This number called our home phone today saying they were Bancorpsouth Bank fraud dept.  They claimed our account  needed to be verified after some suspicious activity.please be aware!

I tried to make a purchase online using PayPal and was told my transaction could not be processed. A few minutes later... I recd a call from 8553237840 claiming to be from Bancorpsouth. The msg said that they were investigating fraudulent activity with my card. When I called the number back... it was a recording and it did not have a company identification.  I was quickly put in hold... and was on hold over 10 minutes before I got tired of holding and hung up

I received a message today that a representative (Lindsey) was calling from Bancorp South Fraud Security Department. She was just calling to verify some recent activity on my account that I should call back at  855-323-7840. Please be aware, for she mispronounced my name! It is a scam!!!

It was legit. It is from Bancorpsouth fraud department. I called their main number and verified.

It is BancorpSouth fraud department. We'd traveled out of state and the gas charges flagged our account.

This is a true call from Bancorp South. I was shopping online (auction w/sam's) made multi purchases. The call was to verify it was me. Thanks the Bancorp South.

When I called them back they couldn't tell me the name of their company and the *supervisor* couldn't tell me her bosses name or the name of their company.
Complete and udder FRAUD!!!!

It's legit, I received a message on my answering machine wanting to verify some charges on my credit card.  I called the number on the back of my card (not this one) and there were in fact several fraudulent charges.

This is legit. It's Bancorpsouth. I thought it was a scam, but someone had tried to charge my account thousands of dollars. This isn't a scam.

This is legit.  They will call you if you have a large purchase or it's something out of the ordinary.  They are very diligent.  One time they called and my credit card had been hacked!  I had to get a new card.  They called this week because my husband had made a large purchase.  When verified, they reinstated his card.

Received another call on 06/01/2017 from 855-323-7840, it was BancorpSouth Security Dept. verifying purchases made with debit card.  It was a legit call and do appreciate them for calling.

Keep in mind, even IF it is the legitimate company for this number, it doesn't mean scammers won't spoof it to trick victims into giving up personal information.

This is the BancorpSouth fraud line. I called the number on the back of my card to be sure and they confirmed there were potentially fraudulent charges on my card that needed to be addressed.

I received a fraud alert text from bcs telling me to call this number bc of a potentially fraudulant charge. I sat on hold for 10 and hung up, thinking it was fraud. I called the main bcs number and related my story and they said it was indeed them that called. I complained they needed a better process. The spam charge was to a speedway gas station in Alsup, Il.

I thought it was a spam, but indeed it was BankcorpSouth. Someone at a casino in Virginia hacked my card in a casino!
