Did you call the number on the back of your card to confirm this or did you just trust some random caller? See, scammers spoof legitimate numbers all the time so trusting an unsolicited caller is never a good idea.

It’s legit! I just added my card to PayPal yesterday and then they got my card # this morning and tried charging it twice. The first time it went through the second time is when I got a text from BanCorp South asking if the charge was valid or fraud! I texted back fraud! Then I checked my account online and sure enough a charge had went through. They sent me this number to call and they suspended my card and they’re sending me another one. I contacted my local branch to double check and they verified everything!!

I received a text from Bancorp south telling me it was a fraud alert and left this number to call. I DID NOT call that number but instead called the number on the back of my card and found out that indeed someone had tried to use my card number in Tallahassee FL and I am in Texas. The fraud alert was a valid one but I’m not sure about this number as it could have been spoofed. Call the number on the back of your card if you get an alert as it might possibly be a valid alert, as mine was. ONLY CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR CARD!!!!!!

I received text msg last night from this acct. I have called the number off the back of my debit card which is 1-888.....the clerk stated Bancorpsouth will never call from a 1-855 number..never.

RX call 4/1/2020, said it was Bankcorp South, and they wanted my debit card number.  I said no way this is a scam, if you were truly bankcorp you’d know my debit number!!!!

They call Nov 30 2021 they told me the was from Bankcorpsouth . But I was sure the was and scam

The number texted me about multiple purchases made on my account. I called the number and confirmed only my name and the lady had an attitude because she wanted to know extra info on my account.

You are lying so I am guessing that you work for the scammers who are using this number.  SHAME ON YOU!!!

Becky, why are you replying to a 9 year old post?  In addition, there have been no reports on this number for 2 years.  Did you get a call from this number claiming to be the fraud department for this bank?  If so, it behooves you to post your experience and to do as Slim advised, back in 2017, and call the number on your card.
