- DontCallMe| 16 repliesCalled me three times back-to-back this morning. I pushed the first two straight to voicemail because I didn't recognize the number and then let it ring until my phone automatically sent it to voicemail the third time. The stopped a calling at that point. Check my messages and whatever it is that's so important for them to call me three times in a row is apparently not important enough to leave a message about. I'll be be putting them on my blocked caller list.
- Untitled| 3 repliesRobo-call claimed it was from Microsoft. Wanted certain buttons pushed to answer questions regarding receiving some kind of change.
- Caller: Claimed it was Microsoft
- angela brallier| 3 repliesstop calling my number

- Slim replies to angela brallier| 1 replyWhy do you think WE are calling you?
This is a discussion forum where one can report or describe suspicious or unknown phone calls, but reporting them here does not stop the calling. YOU have to take action to do that! (google is your friend). Consider buying a call blocker from your favorite store if nothing else works. - help replies to DontCallMe| 7 repliesLOL, where you trying to get into a vpn. This is a microsoft validation service for some vpn's that require a seconday validation besides username and password.
- Roland| 1 replyNot a Robocall. Unless they spoofed their caller ID, this is Microsoft's multi-factor authentication number, e.g. if you have Office 365.
- Caller: Microsoft
- Bob| 5 repliesPersonally used for authentication of Microsoft Outlook Web Mail
Microsoft Azure Multi-Factor http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/ - KiKiJust received call and voice mail from this number. Cut half way in on message stating someone trying to access my account and they need to verify my information.
Ummm.. yeah right. - Angel| 7 repliesI talked to a support member from Microsoft just now. This is NOT one of their numbers. This is a spam number. Do NOT grant it any kind of access to anything. best bet is to block number and do not answer call. Trying to find a way to get number reported... stay tuned
- Matt replies to Angel| 2 repliesThis is incorrect, the number is Microsoft MFA (multifactor authentication), when configured in Azure, (maybe more). If you are getting it multiple times, somebody is trying to logon to a system that is configured with your number, and it wants you to answer and hit pound to verify it's you. If you aren't logging in then the number is entered incorrectly, but the multiple calls means the system is working as designed. If you were to answer the call you would hear "this is the Microsoft sign in verification process. Please press pound to complete your verification. "
- RobertTheTexan replies to Untitled| 1 replyIt's legit. Are you sure you weren't trying to access a Remote Desktop Computer? lol "wanted certain buttons pushed" Yes, that's how they validate that you are authorized to access the remote systems.
- RobertTheTexan replies to AngelWhoever you talked to does not have the correct information. This call is regarding validation to a system, for me it was validation to my client's remote desktop system. How did I get here? Well the first time they called I didn't realize that, the 2nd time I called it happened to coincide with me trying to get logged into a remote desktop, plus my login instructions said I would get a call on my cell phone. So umm yeahh...this is totally legitimate.
- RobertTheTexan replies to Angel| 1 replySo when you are attempting to access a remote system, it could be an Azure system, or a standard Windows Remote Desktop System, the MS validation service is going to call you and ask you to press a button to validate your access. Basically this is way to prove you are a human being trying to access whatever remote system you are accessing. Now if you don't know if you are accessing a remote system or not....well that's an entirely different problem altogether and one that I probably can't help you with. ;-)
- Sgt Hulka| 1 replyLegit all of the way. My employer now uses as of today, 1-31-16, whenever I access email remotely.
- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Text message
- Wafflefry| 1 replyMy company uses the Microsoft Call Authentication when I have to log into a VDI (remote) and this is the number I answer everyday. (I have to hit the # in order to successfully log in through a Citrix Reciever)
- Caller: 855-330-8653
- Cristopher| 8 repliesIt's legit call from Microsoft. They verify the identity by calling you if you have chosen the call answer for the verification process. You may choose text message if you don't want to receive the call.
- Caller: Microsoft
- BigA replies to Cristopher| 5 repliesSorry but Microsoft doesn't cold call you about computer problems. So I guess I can say this:
- Tygerkat replies to CristopherWait - what? Your post makes no sense.
- CWG40| 2 repliesEighteen posts on this thread and slightly over half are busy tell everyone who'll listen, how "legit" this number is. It's most likely some sort of scam. Looks like the shill posters are hiding behind a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo.
Personally I'd ignore and block any communication from this number.
Other sites also report this number to be a scam of some sort.- Caller: Just my opinion
- Kyle| 10 repliesIt's a legit number from Microsoft and all the 'technical mumbo-jumbo' is 100% correct. I get it occasionally when attempting to log in to Skype for Business. If you're not attempting to access something on your (likely work) computer, someone else is and has the wrong phone number configured.
