I received a call (left message) from a Heather claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. She left the above phone number and asked me to call back about some questions they had, and she said her extension is 3105006. This is all I know, but it seemed perhaps supicious.

I called my local SSA office and verified that this is a legitimate Social Security office number.

I think it is bogus Ron,they called me too will check further tomorrow. 2/8/2015.

the person who called me from this number identified himself as Anthony and left message that he had questions about my Social Security application. I also received a letter (hand addressed) claiming to be from Denver SS office telling me to call Anthony at this number. When I tried to call, I got a message saying this number is not in service. It doesn't match any of the social security office phone numbers in Denver or in my home city. Did anyone find out anything more about this number?

Got a call from a guy named Cis, when I asked him for his last name he asked me what I needed his last name for, then he told me it was a long last name and to long.  I had just filed for S.S. when I got this phone call.  He said he wanted to talk to my husband and ask him some questions.  He told me I was entitled to more money then I am getting, but first he had to speak to my husband.

I contacted my social security office and this number is really from the social security office out of Denver. So do not fear.

GOVERNMENT FOOLS = YES THEY ARE "SSA" So very confusing looks bad sounds bad but they are real JUST FOOLS who want me to leave my SS# on the phone. STUPID GOV CALL CENTER --

Called & got message to leave my name, phone number, and SSN.
I don't think Social Security would ask for that over the phone.

Got a call from Phillip at that number.  I'm pretty suspicious because I completed the form fully before submitting int.

Just got the Call from this #, didn't answer, left message to call back! Yea right, like I am going to call this idiot back to give info and answer questions so I can get more money!   Don't think so , SSI will contact me with professional mailing and will NOT call and ask for info over the phone!

I called the main SSA 800 number on 05-Oct-2016 and was advised by a representative there that this number (855 369 5447) is a valid intake number for the Denver Social Security Administration Claims office.

This is the number to the Social Security Denver Workload Support Unit located at the Federal Center in Lakewood Colorado.  The number is legitimate.  You would only receive a call from this number if you recently filed an online internet claim.

Numbers can be spoofed - faked.
If anyone is unsure about this number or calls, and you have an on-line claim, please be careful until you are certain you are talking to legit SS reps.  Or, call back using a number you know is correct.  It makes sense to be careful.

Got a call from 1-800-772-1213 (supposedly Social Security, and one day after I applied for Medicare online), left a message for me to call 1-855-369-5447.   Funny, my phone said it was from a restricted number even though they gave me the number in the message twice.  Said they need to know "about your mate and your place of birth".  Beware.  Also, for all these posts above who claim the number is legit, how do we know that the person who did the post is legit?

I received mail shortly after filing for SS.  Stupid me, I've called 3 times and left name, ss#, etc.  No return calls.  I'm calling fraud hotline.

This person told me to call this number but I immediately didn't trust the guy when he said my name correctly only to instantly correct himself and say my name entirely /wrong/. I'm worried about this because I don't know what to do

There's nothing to worry about since this is a scam. And what to do is - block the number & don't answer calls from unknown phone numbers when at all possible. Simple.

Called my spouse and sent e-mail to her at address she only uses for SS. I checked several sites such as this trying to confirm. Most say scam. Local SSA office said e-mail looks like scam. Noticed that L.Y. is on nearly every site I checked saying it is legit. L.Y., who are you to be so adamant in your affirmation when so many others say scam? Just wondering.
