- BobDO NOT ANSWER! They just try to get personal info from you.
- JanAnother lame [***] collection company threatening to file papers with the local court. This call was slightly different but violates your rights even more by stating if you know the whereabouts of the person they are trying contact to call them with immedaitely.
- Caller: Unknown dont say
- JaneJust received a call from a pre-automated robot that spewed my first and last name -- the recording threatened to take me to court or file papers at the courthouse and didn't say why. Could be a scam. I do have a medical bill that I'm behind on, but it's illegal for collection companies to threaten you like this.
- I called themSo, I have one outstanding medical debt in collections and so that's really my main concern. Still, it's not so outstanding to the point where the courts would get involved. I just received a voicemail from these jokers (scamming debt collectors claiming they'll file papers against me if I don't call back), so I decided to call them back from a free text message/call (TextNow) app on my iPhone (it's free to download and they give you a free phone number -- it's like Google voice) from a different phone number to ask them who they were. I called them 4 times and was automatically transferred to an automated robot woman saying "if you know your parties extension dial it now, if not press 0" bfibalky pressed zero and got a voicemail saying to leave a voicemail for extension 146. I tried calling again and finally got an educated sounding male in the line who claims to be CFS processing for court issues. I didn't tell him who I was, but I demanded their business address so that I could verify the debt. He said he wouldn't give me the address and demanded who I was -- I then told him that if he's a legitimate company he would have no issue giving me their address. He hung up on me. Yep - it's probably a scam. He really couldn't articulate much on what he does at his business and sounded confused when I asked for his address for the company he claims to represent. I just googled CFS and got no returns on any company that processes court papers, etc. Please report to the attorney general's office and FBI.
- Caller: "CFS" don't know! A mystery...
- Bill| 8 repliesComplete scam! Do not give info.
- Jane replies to Bill| 7 repliesBill, absolutely! A major scam. what company did they tell you they're from? They told me they were "CFS" and the black guy (I could tell by his voice) hung up on me when I asked him for his address. If they were legit, they would have verified their address and business information.

- Jane replies to cherrocks| 1 replyCherrocks, what company did they claim to be? Would they verify their address? The guy I spoke to was very evasive and rude. I'm reporting them to the Attorney General's office.

- Read this -- informative
- Bill replies to Jane| 1 replyCFS. They actually had my full SSN and family names and number (they gave it to me without verifying who I was just to scare me). They're also calling family members and threatening them, trying to get their personal info and more of mine.
This is the SECOND time this has happened to me this year, so I'm familiar with what is going on. I'm sure it's the same people that are calling over and over. They change their name and numbers constantly, and will continue to hammer you.
I'm assuming that there was an information link from an old loan that I had many years ago, and these people are using that as a scare tactic to try and get you to wire them money. They won't give any company information, other than a fax number.
I recommend putting a fraud alert on your credit reports (if they have any part of your SSN). Outside of that, you can report them to various sites, but they are outside of this country and there is little that we can do.
These people are CROOKS and will get what they deserve. - J RReceived message regarding a person we do not know asking for immediate call back with any information of the person they were looking for would have court action filed in their county. If they know location to file court papers, why call people who have no idea who the person is that they are seeking? Perhaps some company is looking for someone with a debt and got telephone numbers mixed up. Message deleted. Person they are seeking is unknown to us. The company can proceed with whatever comes next.
- Caller: no name given
- Call type: Debt collector
- Annoyed GuyWhat the fudge ! Got a voicemail (Not the first time) that said " This call is in regards to a formal complaint that be found against (and an electronic computer voice gave my full name). If you have any information that can lead to the where about of this individual call.... etc, etc." Like Hell I'm gonna fall for this scam.
- Caller: Unknown.
- G manThey called 18 hours ago. Scam
- None replies to BillGot the same call and message
- Teresa| 2 repliesJust got a call from this phone number at work. They said I had taken out a payday loan and never paid it back, and closed my bank account. Said they were with CFS. They had my name, social security number, and address. They said they had affidavits from the bank saying the funds were deposited into my account. When I asked for more information and asked them to send me proof, they were going to transfer me to their supervisor, and then hung up on me.
- Caller: CFS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Teresa replies to Teresa| 1 replyForgot to mention they said they were collecting a debt for Vista Holdings Group
- CWG40 replies to TeresaVista Holdings is basically a zombie or phantom creditor, that scammers often use when they are trying to collect on questionable or outright phony debts. Ignore this "CFS" and block their calls.
According to the Secretary of State of Nevada, this group has been dissolved. It's kept alive (most likely) by a bunch of scammers like CFS working on their own. Do not pay them anything. Block and ignore their calls.
