- confused and annoyedOkay. So my call was different. Call was received 9/19 by my husband's grandmother. She said the same number had been showing up on caller ID for weeks and she finally decided to answer. They asked for me using my maiden name.
Folks, I do not know her phone number so I certainly couldn't give it out with my name. Nor would I. So how in the world could they have attached my maiden name to her phone number??
To further confuse matters, the caller identified himself as Tim McNiel and said he was calling from TicketMaster.- Caller: TicketMaster???
- FedUp!| 1 replyMy sister in law received a call from this number 855-393-4317 claiming they are Johnston and Moore, name of the investigator provided was Jamie Fuller (investigator). They are looking for me. I call the number and it goes into hold music then an Investigator HARRIS picks up, I advise her I was returning a call. She wanted me to provide my ssn#, I refuse to do so as I was on this site and reading the complaints against them. I stated that whatever they needed they can send their request in writing, she "disconnected" the call. I called back, this time an investigator Sampson picked up. I went through the same motions, this time I advised her that I was going to report them and I knew they operated under fictitious names and threatened people, etc. She said she did not care, I said good luck with your life behind bars!
I truly hope people do not fall for this scam! Know your rights, do not give your personal information to anyone!! I really hope they catch these a**holes!- Caller: Johnson and Moore

- LisaGGMy sister called me to say she had received a call looking for me...that I was to call Inspector Jacobs at 855 393 4317 immediately. I have been getting calls from unknown numbers all week. I have no outstanding debts, but have been fooled before by people claiming I owed their clients money in the past. This is nonsense. Don't bother to call back. I've been threatened to be served papers at work, thrown in jail, etc. I work at a high end private school, have just bought a new car and have good standing credit. These people are praying on the weak. Do not be bullied! They will go away. In the meantime, report these calls. They are ridiculous!

- Ticked off| 3 repliesThese people called my sister stating that I need to give them a call right away, the number that was left was (855)393-4317 , I called these people and I spoke with three investigators davenport , McNeil and warner. They all advised me that I owe for a pay day loan, my reply was okay that's fine you are going to have to take me to court because these people have been paid and I will not repay , their response was well I see that you paid something you just didn't pay all of it, I told them I would see them in court and the call was disconnected

- Annoyed and PO'ed replies to Ticked off| 2 repliesThese people have been calling me about once a month for several months claiming to be collecting on a payday loan with PDL Ventures that was taken out in 2009. I have never heard of PDL Ventures, but that is irrelevant as the debt is more than three years old. They have told me they were going to arrest me for fraud (can't happen in my state with a payday loan) and that they are filing suit in XXXX County - there IS no county by that name in my state....they are using my city name as the county name. Yesterday, I had enough and was determined.
"Investigator Clarke" (whose voice I recognized) answered my call. She read directly from a script about what was going to happen. If I tried to stop her, she would say my first name over and over as if I was a child. So, I just let her go. She said court documents were prepared to be filed unless I made arrangements today. She then said, "So are you going to settle this in or out of court." At first I wouldn't answer, but then realized I may actually be able to get an address. I said I would settle it out of court. She put me on hold to go talk to the attorney to see what settlement could be reached.
When she came back she said I owed $2, 915.81 (last month it was a different amount) but I could settle today for around $1000 if I would make a good-faith payment of $225 over the phone. I apologized and said that I could not do that as I no longer have a checking account, but that I could send a money order or cashier's check. She put me on hold where I was "suddenly" disconnected. I called back and was reconnected to her. She said that they couldn't take any payments through the mail that if I could not make the payment over the phone, I would be considered as non-compliant and the court documents would be filed (another illegal tactic as they MUST provide you an alternate way to pay). I laughed and said it didn't matter because I was only attempting to get their address to send a cease and desist order to them.
I read her the code in my state and the violations she had just committed under the FDCPA. She got really angry, started yelling and talking over me. Then she said "So and so, call these references to see if we can find where she is to serve the papers." They also have left messages on my answering machine...another violation. I repeatedly asked her for her mailing address and she refused to provide it. I told her that I was demanding verification of the debt be sent to me by mail. She said she didn't have to do that. I read her the law that said she did, despite the fact she talked over me the entire time. She hung up on me after that.
I called back and this time simply asked for their mailing address. I was given PO Box 456, Coiumbus, SC 29201, but am positive it is a fake address. However, I am going to attempt to send a certified letter there and see what happens. I may actually answer "State Police" and a fake officer name next time they call and inform them that their calls had been forwarded to the police for the purpose of filing charges against them for harassment.
I did try to fill out the police report, but you can only do that if you have a street address.
I have had it with these people. I have also gotten a letter from an attorney out of New Jersey claiming I owe another payday loan. Unfortunately, I am unable to find a way in NJ to determine if this is really a lawyer. From the looks of the letter, I doubt it...full of typos, errors and not even on any form of letterhead. I sent a verification letter after the first one only to receive another letter the following week the exact same letter, typos and all, arrived in the mailbox. Tomorrow, they are getting a certified letter sent with a copy of a complaint I am filing with the NJ Bar Association. - Annoyed and PO'ed replies to Annoyed and PO'edOh...forgot one thing....at one point in the call, I asked her what county it was she was filing in. She said "your county." I said "Can you refresh my memory because it could be one of two and I want to know what to expect." She literally had to back up in the script and start reading from the sentence prior to where she said suit would be filed.
I don't know how these people found me, but I am DONE with them. I have filed a complaint with the FTC but, seriously, they do NOTHING about these people. It is a joke anymore. - Tired of the harassment| 1 replyIn the past 8 months, I have received more harassing phone calls from (855) 393-4317 than I care to remember. The individual they claim to be looking for is not me and I explained this early on when the phone calls started. The company they claim to represent is Smith & Bloom L.L.C. The last few times they've called (yes....they're still calling), I asked for names and got hung up on. I also explained that I was going to file a harassment complaint and also got hung up on. Sick of this [***].....they won't stop calling!!!
