- Joe| 9 repliesthese guys are nothing but a scam, they appear to be somewhat cold calling and making blatant threats to unsuspecting american's and violating the federal fair debt collections practices act on each and every call. If they were an actual law firm there would be some sort of actual record of them which they are not and there is not. A real law firm does not threaten, they just do, and regardless do not hide with fictitious company names and refuse to provide actual contact information about their company.
I am an attorney and they are actively harassing my client, they will not provide the spelling of their firm any attorney bar# not even their fax number or address, they are a complete scam, YOU DO NOT OWE THEM MONEY, if in fact any debt was owed by my client (which is doubtful) they would not give me information about their firm because they are scared of legal action. The threats this simple collection agency is making on each and every call are against federal law.
filing a complaint does nothing as they will just make up another fictitious name and change their phone number since no one knows who these people are. Just be aware they have no power legally or otherwise.
If you get any further information on this company PLEASE post that information here, so i can take steps against them!- Caller: Luchi and Associates (unsure of spelling)

- l1817| 1 replyInitially got a call from Eric Moore (?), message said that he was trying to deliver me a court summons, and wanted to know if I was deliberately avoiding him, how can you deliberately avoid something you have no knowledge of in the first place. Said I could call "my" plaintiff and get it settled. I called and talked to someone, didn't give his name, when I asked for the name of the associates, he just kept talking. Told me that I committed fraud on a pay day loan by closing my bank account before they could take their money, don't think so. Told me that I could go to court and pay over 3500, but that I could settle with them for 600. When I asked for more info on my debt, he said that I sounded like I just wanted to go to court, um, all I wanted was whatever information you had, and since there is none I don't know what he was talking about. I got scared until I looked here, now I will wait for that court summons to appear, then I will take it to my court and tell them that I have not had any kind of correspondence from these fools. I don't think the court summons will be arriving anytime soon.

- notgiven replies to JoeI'm not sure they are actually cold calling their victims, they have to be getting information somewhere. Sometimes they seem to know quite a bit, sometimes they seem to have very outdated information. Treat them like the lying, outsourced, scum-sucking scammers they are. These don't sound any different than the other fake debt scammers reported on this site and others. They are persistent but can't seem to do anything but call, everyone and anyone they can find a number for to harass and try to embarrass their victim.
If they can't mail the required notice, it isn't a valid debt, period.

If they sound foreign tell them your nephew/son/BIL, etc has a friend in homeland security who told you they are under investigation for funding terrorists and you are supposed to record their calls for the Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force. Some people have gotten rid of them by claiming to record them, but they'll probably start calling again a few months down the road. Don't be find-able when they do. Change everything, get your employer to tell them a gossipy story about how you were so overcome with the stress after losing your job for getting too many personal calls at work that you jumped off a 6 story building. Memorialize your Facebook page, unlist your new numbers, abandon your Twitter account, etc. - CandaceToday this number called my number gave the person who answered information about me. When I came home they was highly abset by this. I returned the call, I was put on hold and then some one said he was a paralegal Aaron Steinberg from Locator Associates . Looked it up can't find it. Would not provide the name of the Attorney ( would provide in court) , ask when this took place (would not provide information.
Told him I would contact the attorney general of PA and wery smartly he said go ahead.
I could go ahead and pay on line or go to court. Once again said I was going to contact the attorney general.
He ask who is it? I said the Attorney General Of PA. He said go ahead, again.
Then he said will you pay now or go to coaurt. I hung up.- Caller: Locator Associates

Gave me a case/claim# and told me to call 855-393-4944. Also stated that I need to only have an attorney contact them cause there was a restraining order against me. WHAT!!!!!!

- anon replies to BarbTry not answering when they call - also might try turning off answering machine which is always fun to waste their time. A ringing phone doesn't bother me!
- Martie replies to JoeThank you for the info. They contacted my son yesterday with a message for me saying they had a restraining order for me due to an unpaid debt. My son knows enough about the law from college classes to know that that is not how restraining orders work. Before reading this post I tried calling them back but just got a voice mail. I don't think I will be calling them back based on your post. If they call back I will tell my son to say that we are calling the attorney general's office.

- Robert NaramoreIt is a person or persons phishing for personal info.
- s.| 1 replyGot a call from 603-856-0338 today. It claimed it was concerning an "affadivat" - and "restraining order" and "show cause" . Coincidentally - two days ago I had a call from another company claiming the same things - using a different phone number, Luchey & Associates - their phone number was 855-393-4944.
I called the 855 number back. They could give me no details, but they claimed it was a "criminal" matter - naming me a respondent in a court case, and that it involved seizing of legal assets, 3 pending charges, and rescheduling a court date. She said that the judge had told them to make it a "rectifiable" matter, where they couldn't arrest someone for just not showing up - and that the judge had made it "rectifiable" because the charges had a minimum of six months jail time. I have never heard of this legal language before - regarding a summons to court - I have never heard of a "rectifiable" order from a court. Maybe this is legitimate legal language, but it doesn't seem like a legitimate phrasing.
I said I thought they couldn't arrest you for just not showing up at court - never mind there had been no legal notice mailed, or anything - and that's when she started saying, well, maybe they wouldn't actually arrest the person, maybe they would just reschedule the court date. (Can anyone say Stephanie Plum? - From the Janet Evonovitch novels? This is the lie Stephanie Plum (who is a bond enforcement agent) tells people when they have skipped out on a bond in a court matter.)
This certainly seems like a scam. It did seem like they were threatening legal action just to scare people, and they would not say what the original charge was - although I think they did mention owing money - why would they seize assets in a criminal charge case? I have a little legal knowledge - worked doing office work in a law firm for several years, and their legal phrasings were all a little off.
What bothers me is that is two calls like this in a row - the first time from the 855-393-4944, and now from the 603-856-0338 number. I didn't call the 603 company back. It seems like they are targeting certain phone numbers and I don't want to give them any information. Hope this helps people.

- Joyce Mack| 1 replyI received a phone call from this phone number. They were very rude and would not give me the name of their company. Their claim was that they would see me in court. They have to be a scam because I never heard of them nor do I have any outstanding bills. I trule hope that someone catches them ASAP.
- Alfalfa replies to Joyce MackConsumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
