Do NOT pay them a dime! Doing so may re-validate a time-barred debt!
If they mail you anything (which I highly doubt they will) check on the Statutes of Limitations in your state regarding this type debt. They vary. I can assure you that in your state a medical debt from 2004, even if once valid, is now time-barred. Meaning that this gang of thieves can NOT successfully sue you for it! By making empty threats of doing so they have violated the FDCPA & can themselves be sued.

Received a poorly communicated vmx indicating a civil suit was filed regarding a tenant. The thing is, this message was left for my father. He died a decade ago.

Got a call saying they were looking for me using my former married name and my married name, have been  remarried 17 years!  Saying a civil lawcase is pending

called my husband  his employer and myself. Told my husband he owes over $2000 to Wells Fargo. Would take about $1500 settlement. He called me and was prepared to pay with a credit card!! ,he was concerned because she said a deputy was going to his employer.  I immediately thought SCAM,and told him to do nothing. Sure enough, the following several days the threatening calls started coming. When I received one I took down her info and googled it..yep..SCAM! THANK YOU All who have reported this before!!!!!
