Unwanted call

Same as everyone else - missed call from a local number and asking to call back on the 855 number - urgent matter - documenting every attempt to try and contact me, blah blah blah. . These calls are happening 4-6 times a day.....all different reasons from urgent matters, to my auto warranty, wanting to purchase my house (i live in an apartment)  to the IRS wanting to arrest me.

My number is on the Do Not Call List there's a computer calling me with the lady voice saying that I need to call this number in reference to some mitigation but that's not true this is a scam

You DO know the DNC list isn't a call blocker, right? And that it only applies to telemarketers? Debt collectors (real or otherwise) aren't telemarketers. Scammers of any type ignore it. That's why a call blocker which enables you to block entire area codes is so beneficial.

They will not stop calling my number.

They are a locator company, for another company, paid to track numbers. They send you to another company, who then ask you to verify your info so they can tell you who put in a claim or litigation againts you. So funny cause she got pissed with me cause I told her she wasn't in need to ask me since she should have the info.
They are third party debt vampires.

I finally called this number after receiving countless phone calls and messages as described above.  A guy answered the phone and said he worked for a "locator service" who was trying to locate a woman named "Bridget" who apparently used to have my phone number that is on some debt collection list.  I have had my phone number for almost 20 years and I periodically have received these calls from debt collectors looking for this same woman.  I have explained  numerous times to these  twerps that I do not know this woman and that I've had this number for now 20 years and I've been told every time that they would update their list and take my phone number off this person they are trying to reach.  I don't need to tell anyone how that has done nothing to stop these calls.

Just rec'd same vm msg with same number.

They call often, same spiel, need to call back ASAP, no company name, no info.  Major nonsense.

I have calls from this number emphasizing it's urgent to call back.  There is no mention of who they are.  But there is a message indicating it's of the legal nature.  I don't know what they are talking about.  Block them!

Scam. Keeps asking for people who do not live here.

The individuals that are calling from this number are not Legit, I called ERS Recoveries which is Express Recovery Services. They are a legitimate debt collection company but when I gave them the number 855.491.4786 which is what the message says to call and the other details from the call they were firm it was not their company. They asked for as many details not about me but about the message left and for the number and the number they were masking via the caller ID. They were firm it was not a call from their company and said they were reporting it to their management. I then contacted my attorney and they told me it was a Scam. They said there are fraudulent groups who find old debts and try to scam someone in paying them but it has nothing to do with the actual creditors. In addition, it is Illegal for a company to make threats over the phone and no legitimate company would do so. My Mother received a call from them today which was masked by a number from her State to appear local and I too received a call from them from a different number which was masked to appear in the State I live in. The steps I encourage everyone to do is never answer a number you do not recognize and do not call these individuals back as they will try to gather any information they can about you and even if they have certain details, they are obviously looking for more. And never let them intimidate you with threats as this is Illegal. If you continue to receive these calls, please report them online to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. It is simple to fill out a complaint on that website and it is a division of the FTC. I have filed complaints before and it works to stop some of these fraudulent groups. There is also a section on there that provides your rights if you want to read up on them. Their website is: https://www.consumerfinance.gov  The only way we are going to stop these groups is to fight back and even if you have a debt out there in the World, the practices these groups are using is illegal and you have to fight back. Remember their hope is you do not know your Rights in the US so if you take a moment to read up on what is legal and illegal, these individuals will then never be able to take advantage of us and we can eventually stop them. And I can guarantee that the individuals calling from 855.491.4786 are using practices to intimidate others that are simply illegal.

I wanted to add that if you are receiving these calls and you are worried because you have outstanding debt, please know groups as these are not legit and are using illegal practices to try to intimidate you. And in most cases they are scams impersonating a creditor which is more common now than ever.
