- Patricia replies to RCG| 1 replyYes I got a call a few weeks ago about an alleged debt that I owe. Anthony Dipolito is the scammers name from Tx phone number 713-597-6808 and they are scammers. He called back today and says I'm calling to get the installment fee of $142. I told him I had spoken to the TN attorney generals office and he got very nervous. I asked him to fax me the court order. I haven't heard another word
- ex employee| 2 repliesthis is a totally illegal shop that makes false threats to scare you into paying, they can't do anything to you, trust me... they are violating every law in the book.. DO NOT PAY THEM!

- David| 4 repliesSara Thomas called and said she was a process server and she was going to be serving the documents at my work or at my house at 3 PM to 5 PM and on Friday. I received three messages at work One message was from Sarah Thomas the other two messages were an automated message that said it was department of legal services and that I needed to call a phone number. I called the number and a gentleman named Anthony Powers said that I needed to make payments or that he could talk to his manager and get my payments reduced but if I had to go to court my payments would be as high as $2500. I asked him to send me documentation and he said he would email me the documentation and when I received the email all it was was a piece of paper that asked me to sign saying I would pay but nothing about the company that was suing me and nothing about the company he works for so I cannot believe this is real.

- Megan replies to David| 3 repliesDid you pay them or no?
- Megan replies to Toni| 1 replyDid you find out if this was a scam or not?
- Megan replies to ex employee| 1 replyHow do you know this information
- Kat replies to MeganToni posted here 6 months ago and is unlikely to return to answer your question so I will. Yes, it is a scam. Any debt collector who refuses to MAIL proof of the debt is a scammer. You see, emails, phone calls, faxes and texts are NOT legitimate methods of debt validation. ONLY documentation sent by US mail is.
- Kat replies to DougHopefully not as "these guys" are scammers.
- Kat replies to MeganBecause REAL process servers do not call in advance. If they did, you could simply avoid them. And REAL debt collectors send proof of the debt via US mail because they know phone calls, faxes, texts, and emails are not legitimate methods of debt validation.
- Kat replies to Megan| 2 repliesHopefully he didn't pay them because if he did he paid scammers.
- Megan replies to Kat| 1 replyEverything you have said makes sense they keep calling me though and before I realized it was a scam I gave them my card information so I had to call and cxl my card. Uhg such a mess why I didn't look it up to begin with I have no idea now they won't stop calling and saying they are serving me paperwork *eyeroll* how do they even know where I live or work yet they refuse to send me anything in the mail and when I call there's only Anthony's that work there sounds like the same guy yet his last name ALWAYS CHANGES 😒
- Tabitha| 1 replyLeft a message about a debt and being sued. Sara left a message and I spoke with Anthony. I have tried calling back several times on the document and the phone number is invalid. I tried calling Anthony directly and it goes straight to voice mail.

- CWG40 replies to MeganReport them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around. - CWG40 replies to TabithaDo not call them back. Do not speak to them or give them any information. This is a debt scamming operation.
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand. - TrinaReceived several calls from Anthony from a 713 number. - Alicia replies to PatriciaDid they provide you with your last 4 digits to your social?
- AnnieI got the same message and actually talk to someone the other day. Said it was from a pay day loan back in 2011 and I could settle out of court. Me being dumb thought I really owed and said I would give them a call back with bank information. I talked to a good friend about it and he said no don't do it. So then the same guy called back and these time I heard the name of the company and I googled the name and couldn't find nothing. And they said they would see me on court if I didn't call them back. So I'm guessing these is a scam?
- Annie replies to KorI have been recieving the same phone call, but every time I google the name nothing comes up. I think it's a scam
