Bogus "removal" number listed on the bottom of a junk fax looking for scrap metal.

How do you know it is a "bogus" number?

The overwhelming majority of these numbers are looking for live numbers.  They harvest numbers and sell to other scammers.  Don't believe me, try calling these numbers and giving them your fax number.  Doing that only adds to the amount of unwanted junk faxes.  Do some research on junk faxes.

This number is now listed as a bogus "removal" number on a junk fax looking to buy forklifts and water meters.

Now it's for a roofing junk fax.  

Now it's for sealcoating.  

We got a fax this morning from 800-391-6687 which was "part of the 'Discover Mexico' campaign ...".

"To be removed from our list, please call 1 855 595 3761"  Don't EVER call those numbers, it gives them your telephone number so they can pester you.

It also lists 877-234-9169 and says it's Mexico Tourism Board. BLOCKED all three numbers.

today's is a hate filled fax.  

This number was at the bottom of a  spam fax they sent me looking to buy cars saying to call it to be removed. Didn't call, not sure how they got my fax number.
The contact was "Calvin 571-419-4343."

Now it's for vacation packages supposedly with Delta

On the bottom of a fax from "CYW Funding," offering short-term business loans.

I see that others received this exact same spam/phish fax with the following (summary) info:

My faxes are on a pay-as-you-go basis, so now I have to contact that company to see if I can get credit for a spam/phish fax.

CYW Funding Quick Loans FAX SPAM received.  I did NOT call the 855-595-5761 number to be removed.  Assumed it is a "number mining" scam.  All of your posts confirmed this.  Been a long time since I received any faxes, and this one was actually to a non-fax number (that I can redirect to a fax machine).  So I would not trust any of this or the removal number.

There a bad people out there - stay vigilant.

Received faxes for roofing and asphalt with this as the removal number.  I wish I was able to block the faxer. So bogus.

Number was on a dumb spam fax about European Classic Cars wanted running of not, saying to call this number to be removed from the list.  I wouldn't.  Other info on this fax was--

Now it's junk fax from "Atlantic Commercial Roofing". Allegedly it's for a real company (atlanticroofmd.com). Two phone numbers are listed on the fax: 410-603-1460, which is allegedly the company's number, and 855-595-3761 "to be removed from our list". I didn't call either. But I have received 4 of these same faxes in the past two weeks!

Just got this junk fax from 609-442-4651 came up in the caller ID as Private Caller - I don't answer any calls from Private Caller.

Second time - from Frank's classic cars. Not calling the fax removal number. But I am thinking of moving my fax machine so it doesn't wake up sleeping people. Such a pain in the ....
