They called my mom's cell phone asking for my dad. They told her to have someone be at the house tomorrow to sign for a package. Gave her the file number of #DA45648 and the call back number of 855-599-8584

I called the number back, the man 'John' answered it by saying 'Litigation Office'. I asked him why did they call my parents. Told me it was a legal matter concerning my dad. So I asked him for his company's name, he told me it was 'Calvary Firms'. I asked what state were they based in, he told me California. I asked where, he said Southern California. And I asked what CITY? He finally told me after a pregnant pause Murrieta. I then asked him the address of his firm, and then he started yelling at me and saying why am I giving him an attitude. He wanted to know my name because it was a legal matter. I told him he does not need to know my name because all I'm asking for is his address. He finally goes fine are you ready for it? And rushed through the address as fast as he can.

The address he gave me: 39252 Woodchester Road Suite #127__ (Couldn't catch it), Murrieta, CA.

I looked it up, there is no such street; the closest thing to it is Winchester Road. And even then there is no legal offices there. It's an address for a UPS store.

Again, it's a scam. Please don't be a victim!!

I have received this call as well.  Asking for my brother to call them back.  Case number DA28242 and a phone number of 855-599-8584.  Interesting...they are calling my cell phone...
I will not call them back.

Received 2 calls looking for my son. first on my cell and then at home a day apart. Gave me same phone number to call. When I questioned they said they could not give any information. When I insisted they transferred me to a case manager who was nasty and yelled back when I insisted on getting information. Told me they would just have to send out a server to our house unless my son calls back in 48 hours.

I received a letter in the mail from Cavalry and associates. This was the phone number on the letter head. I havnt called them back yet. The letter says pending litigation ect. What does that mean?

What exactly did they try to scam you out of?

keep getting calls from a 8555998584 saying I had a case # 23393 and needed to call them wn 48 hrs a complaint has been filed against me.. If I don't respond wn 48 hrs they would be forced to make a decision about my case...

I have received several calls from this number looking for "Alan Parish."  If you know your movies that is Robin Williams character in Jumanji.  Tried to explain that I do not know anyone by this name and seriously doubt that this is a real person. Each call has escalated until this morning the caller literally screamed at me to change "MY" attitude.  He insisted he would be sending a process server and the Marshalls to my door.  Since they do not have my name or my address, I really doubt that.  However...NO ONE should ever talk to anyone like this.....

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.  Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Had them call me earlier today asking for my sister. I tried to get general information. Long story short I looked into them and their faux website that they stole the "letter head" they use on their website from another real firm in MO. They must think people are really that stupid and aren't going to do their research. I looked up as much as I could on them and nothing adds up. I live in Murrieta and tried to personally visit the address they have on their website and BIG surprise it;s a western union!
They're a huge scam through and through. I called a few times and spoke to different people no one had their stories straight as to what was going on there. I got told there were lawyers in the office I asked to speak with one and if i could have their state bar number then all of a sudden they didn't have lawyers in that office. All in all it's a bunch of BS. Everything from their website to their address is a fraud. Watch out for them and do your research before giving any information to anyone!

I have had them try and scam me multiple times, months apart. It's an "unknown" number and they leave a generic voicemail about a complaint, legal action, my case number, and they will be forced to make a decision for me. They call me, and have called my mom, sister, brother in law, husband, best friend, and mom's work - how on earth they get these numbers, I have no clue. My husband called back and they said I had a debt with US Bank that with all the fees was over 5,000, and it was scheduled to go to trial this week, but maybe he could get them to extend the "settlement offer" another day - aka wire us money. I have never had a US Bank account, and called US Bank, who told me they see nothing on file for me, and that if they were trying to collect money they are required by law to send documentation for a period before they would ever call out of the blue. He said it's a scam he has heard before. I got fed up this last time at the fact that they are slandering my name and reputation by calling everyone I know and harassing me/them, and ran my credit report (since you can't get any information from these people). Sure enough a few days ago, my report was run by:

I was called today by first a Alleged Process Server who wanted to deliver legal documents when I asked for what she said for me to call 855-222-3592 to try to rectify the issue first? I called it was the Calvary Group!! I spoke to John who was a bully and very rude! He threatened to repo my auto when I make payments garnish my wages and take anything and everything I have. He told me it was from USBank. He starred off with a figure of over a thousand than he asked for a counter offer. The whole thing was very fishy. I called US Bank nothing matched up but an old Acct number from 15 years ago. It's obvious they had run my credit all addresses were old from years back and my previous employer. Basically they want me to call tomorrow and make a payment or there threats will happend and the Lawsuit as well..So glad I seen this. Hopefully we can get this stopped before someone gets really hurt!!

*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

This is nothing but a total debt scam.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Same number called me and states I would be served papers, funny how they haven't shown up yet...

Received a voicemail today from Robert Smith telling me that my file had been sent to his office and that if I did not contact him action would be taken against me. After that they called my mother and my sister. I don't even know how they got those numbers.
I called the number back (855-335-1048) and spoke to someone in "litigation". This man knew my address and last four of my ssn. I asked him why they were calling, and he said it was for a MasterCard. I asked who the issuing bank was, he said HSBC. I know HSBC is an enormous bank that provides many different credit cards, so I asked him what company issued the credit card. Again he said MasterCard.
I have not had a credit card in many years, so I knew this was a scam.
I asked for the address- Murietta California. When I looked up the address it is a Walgreens.
When I called him out on the scam and said I would be contacting the authorities, he yelled at me and said "You know you owe us money!" and hung up on me.
After some research, I've come to discover their website is fraudulent- the email goes to someone's yahoo account!
I have reported them to the FTC and my states attorney generals office- hopefully if enough people complain we can stop these scam artists and prevent them from slandering our names to our friends and family.
