If they cold called you, I'd be very suspicious. May be part of the internet "your computer has problems" scam. If you didn't ask for service, I wouldn't call back.- Caller: informational post
- Tina| 1 replyMy mom called this number trying to get in touch with magic jack, they said that was the company that they were working for so she gave them permission to take control of our computer to fix the problem that we were having. They (Stephen) started going through our computer and said that we have a trojan virus that was blocking our ip address and that we needed it out. He wanted to charge us 300 to fix it and when we told him that we didnt have the money he cursed us out and said that we were wasting his time and then started to delete stuff out of our computer. NEVER ANSWER OR CALL THIS NUMBER! THEY ARE A SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! THEY ALSO HAVE A 855 601 0003 NUMBER
- Call type: Telemarketer

Jerry - Slim replies to JerryYou just failed your shilling 101 course.
You were caught, and it was too easy for us to do so.
If you want a retest, give us the name, physical location and website of that "genius computer fixer".
And, I see somebody is upvoting your post. Even more suspicious! - Slim replies to Tina>> she gave them permission to take control of our computer <<
Since the scammer accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised the ID
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused
What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1. Pull the cables on the computer, so it cannot access the internet.
2. Change ALL passwords stored on the computer
3. Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4. Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything
5. Inform your bank and credit card companies
6. Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7. You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8. Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you
9. Plug in the computer only AFTER all the above have been done
10. Change the passwords on all online accounts. Even better - access a "safe", uninfected computer, and chance your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

They were extremely helpful and accommodating to all our needs. Also they found temporary solutions to our printing issues. And the solution has found and fixed. Back to normal but only because of the great service we received. You really do know how to talk to young people and know how to connect with them. Great job to all involved. We THANK YOU!" — Jayden

Registrant City: delhi, India
Why should somebody supposedly in Ohio register their site from India?
We thought most of those "your computer is infected" scams came from Pakistan or India ... now we have proof of at least one.
Do you wish to give us more information, or do you merely want to post disinformation? - AlertO-Shill replies to Jayden| 1 replyMy name says it all - WOW a REGISTERED shill!! You are a liar - as are the other shills in this thread.
- Elspeth replies to JaydenIn other news, no one believes your fairy tale. Maybe you should write a children's book?!
- Gunnar| 1 replyI haven't mentioned lately El, Alska!

It just happens, I am sitting here listening to Willie Nelson ... and the song that he is singing now has the words:
"We don't run, we don't compromise
We don't quit, we never do"

Yes they are, they will make you money disappear in a flash and you will have nothing to show for it. And they only thing wrong with you Magic Jack was that you were cut off for stealing from honest Americans and they then made you go out and buy a new one. Win-win for them.
- Willow replies to JaydenThat's nice because.......We'd like to give an extra "thank you" to you for providing the entertainment tonight.
Did you really think anyone would believe this laughable attempt at shilling ?
Temporary solutions ? Uh-huh. We all pay our computer techs for temporary solutions these days. *sarcasm*
The solution has been fixed ? What, it wasn't good enough the first time ? Or maybe that was a slip of the tongue and what you really meant was "My computer was so jacked after the so-called solution that the only option was to take it outside and smash it with a hammer. " - BigA replies to JaydenIs this the company "Jayden"? http://techbasehelp.us/contact_us.html That would be the company with no BBB page, no Bizapedia page, and no registration in Ohio, would that be correct Jayden"?

Guess your next number will be 855-601-0004? - Sarah| 1 replyReceived a pc from a person (male) with a strong middle eastern accent. He said he was from Windows and that he was receiving messages that my computer was in jeopardy. I asked him some questions and he adamantly said several times M'am I trying to tell you there's something wrong with your computer and I want to fix it. I asked for his # and called him back. He picked up my return call then same ole I want to fix your computer. So that's when I looked up his #. Glad I did! It bothers my elderly mom when people like this call and it makes me mad that people upset her when she's trying to rest 😡
