Received call from an 800 number; Steve (w/Indian accent) said he is from Microsoft (yeah, right) and my computer is sending signals that it may be infected w/a virus. He wanted me to go into my computer, go to a website, enter some info and he will prove that my computer has a virus.

Here are the RED-FLAGS...... 1) He called at 11:10 PM. 2) He refused to hang up even after I told him I did not believe him 5 times. I asked for his number and he gave me 855-601-0002. Actually he said it like this "8 double 5 601 triple 2; (who gives a phone number like that?) Anyway...  3) The number he gave was different from the number on the caller id.

He kept insisting that my computer is sending these signals and I needed to look up this info so he could prove I have this virus. I kept telling him I wouldn't do that and I'm not an idiot. Angrily, he finally hung up and I'm just sitting there shaking my head. These crooks wouldn't still be around unless there are gullible people out there still falling for this crap. He just called the wrong person at the wrong time last night.

I had the exact same experience today.  The caller from "windows" gave me the name ALAN who also had the same strong middle eastern accent.  When I asked for his call back number he became adamant using the same warning that my computer was in jeopardy.  He got really angry when i explained that i did not wish to talk to him further so i just hung up the telephone. The callback number was 855-601-0002.

Caller who sounds Indian but gave an English name has called me three times, the second time claiming to be from "Microsoft Windows Support". He wanted me to pay $299.00 to have virus which he probably put there removed. Like a moron I gave him my credit card number. I went to my bank cancel the card. The third time he called, probably to complain that the transaction didn't go through, I just hung up. I checked with Microsoft and the person I spoke with there told me that wasn't them , they wouldn't do something like that. They also told me they had been receiving reports of people trying to pass themselves off as Windows Support and trying to  get money from people. I later got an e-mail from online  collection agency "Geek Web World.com"  saying the payment had not gone through, and that I should make payment to "Member@Paypal.com.uk.

They called however, on caller ID it said "Private Number"... didn't identify themselves told me my windows 10 computer has a virus. Wanted me to download a file. I told them to stop calling. He kept saying why are you so rude. I told them they are scammers. He said no they are not. I said I want the name of your company. He said "Windows 10 Tech Support". I then said why is the caller ID "Private". He went back with saying that he is trying to help me because hackers are trying to get my info. Please download the file so I can show you and stop being so rude. I told him give me your phone number. After 3 attempts to get the number it was 855-601-0002.  Then he said download the file. I told him I will call you back after I check you out and hung up. This is how I found this link. I feel they are scammers.

They have called me 6 times today. I can't believe there isn't anything I can do to stop them. My caller ID reads them as "Private" or "Unknown". I have a lot of friends that have unlisted numbers so that's why I have to answer. :(

I received  a call at 9:30pm from "Windows tech support, Sam White". Indian accent w/ extreme urgency & very persistent "they saw hacking on my account & he would walk me thru removing files"  After bantering about who, where, why .. upon my request he gave me 855-601-0002 call back number & I hung up. He immediately called back & asked what happened? I hung up again & Googled the # to find this site. I am furious I was put through through this stress.
    Please stop these people!!

These are cybercriminals intent on getting control of your computer in order to install ransomware and hold it hostage until you agree to pay them to have it "fixed"---and they have no intention of stopping the calls. Invest in a call blocker.

A guy with an accent called and told me my computer had been hacked and was sending out cyber crime type stuff.  He said they needed to confirm the license number to make sure it’s the right one and if I don’t confirm it then my computer would automatically turn off after 2 days and be unusable.  I asked him for his number because I would have to call back.  He gave me 1-855-601-0002 and told me I had 2 days to call or my computer would stop working.  Not calling back.
