I've tried asking them but they wouldn't give me any information on their company. I've also tried looking them up over the Internet but to no avail.- Caller: Kramer and wall?

- Sir Bedevere replies to ck9ck9, your tactic of getting the scammer on a conference call with your lawyer is one of the best ideas I've heard for dealing with these criminals. Good work! That option isn't open to everyone, but it's nice to see that someone's tried it and that it's had the effect most would have predicted.
If you read the other messages in this thread you'll notice these people call even those who have never taken out a payday loan. My guess is that they simply call everyone claiming they owe on a payday loan and occasionally get lucky by hitting the phone number of someone who actually has done so.
They're not debt collectors, just crooks. Don't pay anyone who can't provide *written* validation of a debt, as required by law. - StaceyI received a phone call at work and since it came through the main line I did not see the phone number when it was switched to me. I work for a law firm. When the woman (Investigator Washington) got me on the line, she said "this is Kramer law firm, we're a law firm too" I am used to these scam collectors calling me and threatening lawsuits, etc. So I asked what "magistrate court" she was talking about and she said it didn't matter. Then I asked when was this supposed payday loan that jumped from an original amt of $600 to over $2000 taken out - she said 2010. So I said "so you are basically a third party debt collector that bought this charged off debt?" She got mad and said "we are a LAW FIRM" I asked what state she was calling from. She got very irate and said it did not matter, I owed a debt and now I was interrogating her and that was unacceptable and that I should expect a lawsuit within days. Then she hung up. I can't find a Kramer law firm on the internet, but have found a few Kramer and such-and-such that are listed as scam collectors.

- GeoffThese folks have information on me that is over 5 years old. This is also about 2 weeks since my last call from a "collection agency" that sent me my written validation of debt with someone else's name on it. After giving them a secondary number so they would stop calling my family I was transferred to their "Chief Legal Counsel". He tried to ask me some questions about check fraud and passing bad checks. I tried to ask him for more information about their case and he refused to answer my questions. He threatened to start the process to "obtain a warrant" - I told him to go for it and the guy hung up.

- Mskitty| 1 replyInvestigator Washington called my daughter and son in law claiming I was passing bad checks.I called the number back given and requested basic information.. I was told this was in regards to a payday loan from 2010.. I was given no information other than this was a debt I owed and they were issuing a warrant for my arrest if it went unpaid as of today..I called the police department and was told not to pay on the debt it sounded like a scam..

- oj replies to MskittyOf course it's a scam. Read all of the previous posts. No mythical "investigator Washington" can issue any warrant for anyone's arrest, and he is a dum bass to say so. Don't pay anything to anyone unless you know that you created the debt and it has been fully validated in writing. If he calls back tell him that you know he's a scam and 2 P off.
- Lisa M.I received a call today from this number, claiming he was investigator Smith, ext. 304 and this was in regards to a payday loan I took out in 2010. When I asked him what company he was with he said Cramer & Wall. I had to ask him repeatedly to spell it for me but he kept mumbling. I googled that name and came up with nothing and from what I read on this site, it's definitely a fraud. He stated that I had committed fraud and they were launching an investigation. I told him this was my work number and I was not allowed to have calls at work and that I would call him on my lunch hour.
I'm here to tell you now...it's a SCAM!!! I actually got caught not once but twice and paid idoits like this because I thougth it was a legimate debt...so I am very aware now of what questions to ask. BEWARE, don't pay these idiots!!!!- Caller: Cramer Wall

- Laura Mitch| 1 replyGot several VM messages from this company regarding trying to locate another person. To my surprise, a friend called me in a panic that she just received a message that an investigator Wilkerson was looking for me because I was connected to fraudulent check activity which is a serious federal offence and left a phone and case #. Isn't it illegal to disclose this type of information on someone else's #?. Anyway, I called the # on Tuesday and spoke to one rude, belligerent rep who go so annoyed when I asked for something in writing, abruptly transferred me to Ms Washington who started yelling and talking over me as well. I advised her that I was recording the call and that I was disputing the debt I was accused of owing (all my payday loans have been paid off years ago besides, I did not have a loan with 10 Dollar Payday). I asked her for the payday loan company which she refused to give me. I asked for her company's address, and fax number and that I need info in writing regarding this debt. She refused to give me address and fax but did say smugly,....that I was certainly going to hear from them...like they were going to take me to court. These folks had ALL of my personal info yet, they did not call me regarding this debt. They called me regarding someone else but, left my info on a friend's VM. This is so weird. I will keep you guys posted as to whether or not, I got anything in writing.

- Laura Mitch replies to Laura MitchShe did give me the Payday loan company name after I enquired but would not give me their phone number. She would not give me her company's address nor fax number either. These people talk over you and you have to yell back at them to listen to what you're saying!!
- DarrickI, as well as my family members and friends received a phone call from these IDIOTS a woman saying her name was "INVESTIGATOR WILKERSON" extesion 305, saying my name was attached to a check fraud case attached to my SSN, so I asked her " you say you're an investigator right? have you been duly sworn in by law enforcement, and able to enforce the law? " she then said yes, I said you ARE aware that impersonating a law enforcement office is a legal offense, she then said depending on how you answer my questions I will be forwarding your info on to your local police dept so they can arrest you, I said, I don't answer questions, I ask them! what is your name, and the legal mailing address of the company or entity you represent? she Hung up!! I then called back about 5 time talking to 5 different people all of whom refused to give me a address for theyre company so I could have them served, they said they were gonna have my number traced and press charges of harrassment against me, I said no need, my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx and my address is xxxxxxx, they then hu on me again, I called them back and said in order for your trace to be successful you have to keep me on the phone! they hung up again, I then went to the Police dept to have them call them, they wouldn't answer, the police called them 3 times and they refused to answer and kept letting the call go to voicemail, I still filed a complaint with my local law enforcement for inpersonating a law enforcement officer. I really wish I had their address so I could have them served!!
