Shill Alert.  Barbs, you know just how low you are?  Dirt rises above you.  And for originality, you get about a zero.  You are not even good at being a lying Shill and crook.

Hewitt Capital - Not a big surprise, one of the Buffalo Bullies.  Or Buffalo Chips.  They have a ugly history on this and other sites.

    Read for yourself:  http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business- ... o-ny-235974812/

They rate a Special Notice from the BBB.  Folks, Please read this and be advised that Hewitt Capital is in the business of scamming, lying and cheating.  They have a ugly history on this and other sites.  Notice Follows:

    Quote:
BBB has seen a major increase in collection agencies starting business in the Upstate New York area over the past several years. In an effort to keep consumers informed about which collection agencies are operating in accordance with federal and state law, we have asked for specific information from all collection agencies located in our service area, including proof of licensing, bonding, and or registration required by NY state or other governments where the business is located, as well as proof of licensing required by any state in which the business operates.

This collection agency has not responded to our requests.

BBB advises consumers to be aware of their rights in regard to collections. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) outlines prohibited behavior when attempting to collect a debt, and outlines specific rights for consumers. There are penalties for agencies found in violation of the Act.

BBB advises consumers to become familiar with their rights under the Act, which can be found at: ftc.gov

We will see about posting more info such as names and actual physical address of Hewitt.  They currently are using a PO Box, since they prefer to hide and the dark.  Let's see if we can bring them into the Light.

Looks like they have been sued already:
    https://www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/2778418/Haywood_v_Hewitt_Capital_LLC
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They leave dire messages on your voice mail to make it sound official and legal. Being a debt collector isn't a scam, but if they try to trick you just to get you to talk to them should you really trust the them to deal honestly with you in resolving your debt?
