I had a voicemail left today directed towards my Ex-husband, this phone number 855-280-2402 was left stating a Complaint had been filed and a Summons would be issued. After his contact with them, wage garnishment was threatened and documents were emailed requesting authorization to take money from his account. Within the first 2 hours after contact, they called My Ex-husband 3 more times and I'm sure this is not the last of them.

If you two can prevent this outfit from leaving threatening messages, it probably will be. If there's been nothing provided in the mail regarding an outstanding debt, disregard it as a dental collection scam. Instruct ex to demand proof sent by mail as they're required to do. You can try blocking the number, but if they're not getting any kind of answer when they call, they could get tired of wasting time with you. I have been getting the same mesasages. The more questions I asked the snottier they got! Its strange how all of these are bills from years.ago. they claim mine was from 2002 at a hospital I have never been to in Miami! I just blocked them!!

Same thing trying to collect on an old hospital bill for my mother.  The hospital was from 18 years ago, it was paid  by Medicare.  Almost caused her to have a heart attack and started crying,  they should  be ashamed.  Curious to know how they got the information.  Looked up statue of limitations on medical bills in Florida it's 5 years each state has a statue of limitations, so this has to be a scam.    Address comes back to a UPS store.

My experience is not with this phone number, but same name. Number they used was 855-806-0896. Called my old phone number looking for my stepmother. They had a restricted phone number, left a voice mail that was quick and garbles and said they were from the Servicing of Talladega County (where we used to live but haven't for a couple of years). I called the number my wife gave me and they just answered "Corporate". .. Whose Corporate? Adams, Daniels Lawfirm. Seems sketch already. Gave him the case number they gave me, they said it wasn't right, too many numbers. Then I asked if they could look it up by name, he said no. Asked why a lawfirm in California would be calling, he said they have processing centers all over us. I asked, why would they give me your number to call? "Cause we are corporate"...... wha?

Also, they are based out of California is what he said.  Also found they have a website that looks sketch as hell too.

Got a call from a 8558060896 threatening to pay debt from 1999 or be served papers to appear in court and if I didn’t they would make a judgement too garnish my wages. They sent me info for me too set up a payment plan that would be withdrawn out of my bank account every month , but when i investigated a little the address they use is a UPS mailbox ....what firm don’t have physical address where there facility is located.

Said they had a file and they were gonna take immediate action and force a judgement on me my husband has been dead for 2 years

I received messages from my mother in law, ex husband and current husband yesterday that these people are trying to get ahold of me as well.  They identify themselves as A Daniels and Associates.  I called the number back 855-806-0896 and was told that I am being sued and that they were surprised that I had not been served papers yet.  I contacted my lawyer, the court house and the hospital that they claimed has a $2900 suit against me.  There are no records anywhere that I owe this money.  This is obviously a scam but I am worried because they have my social security number (they told it to me, I DID NOT give it to them)

A Daniels and Associates. A strong arm shady collection company out of California.  They use info from the web like people finders, to track down people related to you.
They are not actually trying to get a hold of you, but if they panic your relatives, their theory is that your relatives will panic you.  They are not a legal firm. They have no legal documents they are going to serve.  They are trying to scare scam you into paying them money.  Report them to your state attorney general's office.

They told me that i owed a light bill that was in 2009. They told me inowed 3,000 dollars. Thatbtheybtried tonreach me at home or mynwork place. And if i didnt pay, anything under my name would be taken away including my house. I had my 1day to make the payment. Or tjeybwould take me to court. And stupid me was exhausted from work incouldnt think straight i made a payment of $900. Then when i googled adam,daniels and associates. I found this. All scam.... It really pissed me off.

Can you have the payment reversed??  Then contact your state attorney general AND www.consumerfinance.gov  and www.ftc.gov.  Making a threat like that is illegal!

It was a different number but it is the same company.  They can even transfer calls within their place.  Left no company name of voice mail.  "Unavailable" number on caller ID.  Sent my daughter the same VM (which is illegal) and how the heck did they get our cell phone numbers?  Neither of us have land lines!  They had a LOT of information.  It was scary.  I'm still not sure... I contacted the HSBC that they said is suing me and there is no record, nor with Capital One.  The debt is over 10 years old and nothing on my credit report.  I have no idea what they are talking about and they gave dates that they mailed me letters....They gave me an over $2,000 owed amount and then threw in court cost, etc.  Very elaborate if a scam.  They never identified the company.  I called twice, first was answered "Corporate" second was answered "Legal" who transferred me to the first woman I spoke with.   It is considered debt harassment when a debt collector:

Uses abusive language
Reports inaccurate information to your credit report
Calls and does not identify the company
Calls you multiple times in one day
Threatens to garnish your wages without a judgment
Calls you on a cell phone you did not provide to the original creditor
Lies about how the debt will affect your credit
Tells your workplace, friends, family and/or neighbors about your debt
