Why would a mortgage company need your social security number if all they're calling for is to welcome you or even to do a follow up? Such a request makes this caller suspect, in my opinion.

I'm glad I checked this out.  I get calls from them ALL THE TIME but never a message left.  I do have Freedom Mortgage, and I have no problem with their online payment system, but these calls are unreal.  Thanks to these posts I realized I can block them so I have.  They send me mail, they send me email, they don't have to call.

yes my loan just got sold to them from Pacific Union as well. In reading all these comments, I am now LESS THAN  THRILLED to have them as my new mortgage company, never had any problems with Pacific Union.

Freedom Mortgage marketing calls ever since my loan was sold to them only one month ago.  Received so many, that I obtained a Cease and Desist...yet THEY STILL CALL.  Crap company.  First time they needed to draw from my escrow, they credited my account instead.  Freedom Mortgage, how about spending more time actually servicing our loan rather than harassing your customers?

I am not sure how you "obtained a Cease and Desist", but if they are on notice to stop calling you to market to you, then you have a TCPA lawsuit in the making.  At least $500 per call.

I didn't even ask for a C&D!  I had gotten an email marked "Urgent", which turned out to be from the marketing department and I emailed replied requesting they stop sending misleading marketing material.  Not a week later, I get a marketing phone call and again, asked them to stop.  THEY then sent me a Cease & Desist.  All I was asking for was a stop to the solicitations.  I think they thought they would scare me?  Who knows, but within days of receiving that Cease & Desist, I got yet another phone call.

Now I am really confused.  They sent you a Cease and Desist?  Cease and Desist what?  Asking them to stop calling?

I them to put it in writing and mail it to me.  Then I  hung up and blocked their number. Done.

I received a call from this number about our Escrow account. My alarm bells went screeching when she asked for my social security number. Umm, no.

This is Freedom Mortgage. My call was a reminder that they have not received my payment yet. Well, if the website worked properly, there would be no need for this call. Oh, well. I'll refinance after my 6th payment and move on.

SCAM!!!  not freedom mortgage.   I called the legit number for FM and they said its telemarketing scam.   DO NOT CALL BACK OR ANSWER!

Yes it is a telemarketing scam. Of course when you call back they're gonna say its FM.  Its not!

change as soon as you can. Got a fixed rate, payment and every year they give me a raise that I have to come up within less than 30 days. I'm on a fixed income. They are hard to deal with. Still waiting to find out my revised plan.  Block their number, first payment made they called me to see where the money was. Told them to check their in box. Also didn't pay my taxes or insurance out of escrow on time and incurred penalties. Not reliable

It is a real call from freedom mortgage it came less than an hour after I looked at one of their emails for insurance on my mechanical systems in my house so it is a spam call depending on what they're looking for.

Called them back. Never had a mortgage on this house it was a cash purchase a decade ago.  They agreed to kick it to their security department after looking me up and finding no existence as a customer. Getting weird phone calls ever since the T-mobile security breach. Did place a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies when contacted by T-mobile

called me in reference to a "past conversation" (which is a lie) and hung up when i asked to be removed from their list.

Supposedly caller is Freedom Mortgage Company. I'm not a homeowner so I blocked the number.
