I received a call from a "professional courier" claiming to have a sealed package for me.  He told me he would come to my workplace first, and then if he couldn't get me there, he would come to my house.  I was told I needed 2 forms of I.D. and a witness to sign for documents.  If I was at work, I would have to get my supervisor or somebody from HR to witness.  He gave me this number to call to stop this service.  I called and was told it was for a payday loan from a place called my cash now.  I have NEVER taken out a payday loan, and I have no idea how my name got to these people.  I was told I was facing  fraud charges unless I could pay something on this to stop it.  I know they DO NOT have the courts and/or law enforcement on standby waiting for me to pay or not.  Do not give these extortionists anything!

Just received a voice mail saying the same exact thing. He referenced a county I havent lived in in years. I called the prosecuting attorney's office and did a civil lawsuit search, just in case there was something I was not aware of, and nothing. Scam artists, all of them!

My daughter just got a call for my husband from an unknown number stating he was on the schedule to be served documents at his work and to have a supervisor or HR person with him and in order to stop this he needed to call Garrett Reed back at 8558277365. Funny part is that my husband has been out of work for a year and is in civil litigation with his former employer which is all a matter of public record so going to his old job would do no good. Are these people stupid??? Nobody announces their arrival to "serve" someone for one and they will show up at your home before anywhere else if you are being served. I wonder how many people get sucked into scams like this because they automatically freak out and don't look into it first.

I got a call from an unknown number the other day stating that I was going to be served they told me I needed to call (855) 827-7365 immediately. So I did and the lady told me I owe $542 and asked if I could pay half Friday I told her yes but I couldn't come up with the money so today I got a phone call from an unknown number and it was her saying I'll be going to court and "the best of luck you'll need it" was this a scam?

Received 2 calls from someone requesting I contact (855)-827-7365 regarding a claim that was being filed against me. It was her attempt to serve me a letter of intent either at my residence or place of employment. First off the woman left 2 messages, and could not pronounce my name. Also pronounced it differently both times. RED FLAG RIGHT AWAY. This is a total scam. I've been served in the past with no warnings given. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION TO THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. I work for the Federal Government and have been warned about these types of scams going on.

Yes, I also received calls once every other week in the month of August 2015. The calls were directed to my landline thats in my mothers name that we use verizon as are provider. I have never given out this number with my name other than verizon. The messages left was by a woman who couldnt say my last name correctly and said also i was to be served. ***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I had applied for a condo posted on craigslist, this person claimed to live out of town, I thought it was shady but then my brother mentioned how our previous landlord moved out of town and is still managing the complex. So he had his friend showed us the condo and when I asked him for an application he claimed he was just showing the condo for his friend. So I submitted an on-line application with ALL my information the guy never replied and by the following week I got a call from this number 855-827-7365 stating its from the county I live in and that I am being serve. I talked to Kint Black and I almost set up payments when I realized my lunch was over I told him I will call him back. Instead of calling him I called the company and I am tracking down this account that has gone to collection. Now Kirt Black keeps calling me every day and tells me if I don't talk to him he will stop at my place of employment then my house. I almost felt for it because of the account that was sent to collection and because they have all of my information but after reading all these post I am certain its a scammer. I received a voice mail from unavailable number . The man said his name was derek hall and he was calling to tell me he would be serving me with legal paperwork at my place of employment or my home. He said he had me on his schedule Wednesday between 12 and 5. If I had questions to call the filing party at 855-827-7365 and refer to claim  number ******. I called that number and was told it was for a payday loan from 2012. I have not had a loan from the company they named. When I hung up on them,they called back 3 more times with smartmouth comments.TOTAL SCAMMERS!!

Did anything ever happen lol I got the same thing today
