I just received a call from this number about 20 min ago...she said "if I.don't pay it TODAY then I'm going to.be charged" how can these ppl get away with this????  Isn't there something that can be done? O Goldberg.I'm calling human resources. She was so ignorant telling me to.get a f****** job and pay my bills.  But its funny how I'm a p.s.w. and shes the one sitting on her [***] calling d for money from people. Scammers much! We got into a.huge screaming match trust that, I will not tolerate being talked to like this.

Got a voice message at work today, smelled [***] right away, so I googled the phone number and landed at this site.  

If in Canada, you should report this scam to www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca via email at info@antifraudcentre.ca or 1-888-495-8501.  

Here's a transcript of the message that was left on my work phone.  

"Good morning, my name is Sam calling from NRC with very important message for (my first and last name).  It is imperative that you do return my call to prevent any further action,  I can be reached toll-free 1-855-855-1944.  My direct extension is 431"  

This is one club I'm not happy to be joining, but glad this site exist and we can see that we are not alone.  maybe our posts will save someone a bit of money and a lot of frustration.  

wife received a call this morning saying I had to call immediately or else....
I called and they told me I owed $357.00 to HBC (Zellers) from several years ago and I had to pay today or they would call the police or sue me.
When I told the young lady to check again as I never had a HBC card (applied and was turned down 20 years ago), she became very rude and threatened to sue my [***] and have me put in jail.
I started laughing and hung up.

it is a collection agency I believe and when i called back it says NRC

I just got a call from this number they of course asked for me, I asked who was calling she said Bernadette I asked what is this concerning and she hung up

If you guys notice,There is a NRC company that are debt collectors and they already a contact number which isn't the one everyone is mentioning.That alone leaves me curious.This number being googled only leads us to this.Zellers is long gone and my debt was paid in full.Wonder how these fools can get away with this.

Twice I recieved a call and no one on the other end just dead silence. Hummm Boogie Man ?

The only Government Collection agency I know of is Revenue Canada

The poster you're responding to was last here in 2013 - highly unlikely they'll be back to answer your question.  As for your question, if it was a legitimate, law-abiding business, they would already have your name and address.

NRC scammers this company needs to be reported. they employ criminals. they think they are government or gangsters shakin folks down for their hard earned over taxed dollar......

Got a call today that went to voicemail. The voicemail said "(First name), my name is Melissa and I am calling from NRC . You need to contact my office immediately as there is an urgent urgent matter in my office.  It is imperative that you do return my call to prevent any further action,  I can be reached toll-free 1-855-855-1944.  My direct extension is 435." They also called my Fiance and threatened him. They called me from a 519 number, which is Southern Ontario. They then sent me a text message from phone number 226-646-0933.

These guys are scum.
You ask them to provide an invoice of the account, and I have asked over the phone, and emailed them twice regarding this and also stated over the phone AND email that I do not wish to be further contacted until an invoice is received by mail (not email), as they have emailed me as well, they say they will, then just keep calling me to pay some amount immediately.
They threatened legal action multiple times.
And they still call.
As per my post above I do not answer them.
