- Angry customerIt is the incredibly annoying and unwanted PNC fraud prevention jerks.if you call the # back to try to make the harassment stop you stay on hold with horrible, screeching high pitched hold music obviously designed to be so annoying you hang up.They call at 8:01 on Saturday morning once a month. They won't stop even though I've requested them to.
- Caller: PNC
- sThey said they were PNC calling about charges on my card in the voicemail. I called back with the number they left on the voicemail and they asked for my account # right away. I asked 'how do I know this is not fraudulent' and they told me I could call back with the number on the back of my card to be safe. I called back and it was legit. They thought me buying a piece of furniture was possibly fraudulent and wanted me to verify.

- TheBitGuyGot an apparently legit call from a MI number, 269-544-7929. Message left said to call back this 855-866-6950 number. Claimed to be PNC Fraud Protection. When I called, person identified, said is a recorded line, yadda yadda, and then asked for my full 16-digit card number. I advised them that THEY called ME with a phony/suspicious looking number, left a DIFFERENT NUMBER for call-back, and then wanted my card number over the phone. I informed them I was going to end the call, so they suggested calling customer service number on back of card, 'but they'll send you to us anyhow'. Helpful rep at number on back of card was able to take care of it, after I stressed how phony it appeared!
Legit, because I just made a large purchase after an inadvertent fraud-prevention trip. Still looks very suspicious. Mildly disappointed.- Caller: PNC Fraud Protection
- IvorI called the number on the back of my card and asked if this number was legitimate. You should call too. NEVER trust someone who calls YOU. Only trust this number if customer service says it's legitimate.
- Caller: PNC Fraud Dept.

- DanMy wife received a text message from 94387 which said to call the number 855-866-6950. Couldn't really tell if it was legitimate or not so, as someone else mentioned, call the number on the back of your card to verify. Turned out it was a valid text. My account was hacked and had to be closed.

- KRGot a text alert asking if I had made a specific purchase. After I answered "N" as instructed, I was sent another message to call this number immediately. Also got an immediate phone call from PA which I ignored, as I was a bit suspicious. Also got an immediate email. I was worried, so I did call the number on the back of my card (not # in text or email). I got my account taken care of and I asked about the "suspicious" number. It is the REAL number of the PNC Fraud Dept. They are open 24 hrs/day. If you get these messages, take them seriously! And have patience with the people....they are trying to help you avoid being taken advantage of. Don't look at it as a nuisance. Look at it as someone helping to watch your back & keep you safe.

- LASI had tried to make a semi large purchase the previous day which was declined because I didn't have my card in front of me at the time and got my expiration date wrong. Received a call from a different number directing me to call the fraud dept at 855-866-6950. I called and they wanted my full credit card number to verify my identity. I hung up and called the number on the back of my card and they were able to handle the fraud alert and verified that they had indeed called. So it's a legit number, but their practices are not good. Just call the number on the back of your card.

- PA resident| 1 replyI was left a voice message to call (855)866-6950. I gave them more information then I normally would think (entire credit card number, cv code on back, last 4 of social security number). Had an uneasy feeling about it this morning so I called the official PNC number and was transferred to their fraud department. Turns out it is a legitimate number and it was a representative from the PNC fraud department. If you are ever unsure, just call PNC and get transferred to the fraud department and have them take a look at it.

- SallyGot an email and ask to call 855-866-6950, it was from PNC fraud department. I was told someone used my card. I have not used that card in a long time and got rid of it. He also asked me for the sixteen digit. Also when he asked for ss l gave last 4 he said he wanted the 9 digit. Hope he was legit and doesn't use that to destroy my life.
- LynneAnother trusted robocaller warning site has this number recorded as one of those "Hiya howya doin'" typical robocaller nuisances. I got the call just now, but there was no Caller ID except one of those V-million digits nonsense that always signifies a fake call. So I put it on block without answering. Never heard of PNC even if it were on Caller ID.
