SCAM!!! Said she works with MasterCard and Visa and that we were charged extra percentage for January and February. Requested screenshots of my total transaction for those months. I was a bonehead and sent them to her. I don't see what they could possibly gain by that as there is no account or login info included, but whatever. Not sure what they are up to. I spoke with Square and they said there is nothing they can do with it. I called the lady back and told her I know it's a scam so she pout me on hold for a long time and I hung up. Called back and left her a message that I would be contacting my attorney.

Same experience, except the person, "Kyle," said he was with Merchant Services and wanted a copy of our statement as part of an audit.  We did not comply.

The caller Julie stated she was with Merchant Services and that we would start getting charged in April for a Visa Fee because rates had been increased but should not have increased for us. She kept referring to a notification on a statement to review. I again stated that I had never heard of them and I would need to discuss this with my accountant. This is a total scam we have a 3rd party that handles all this and we would not need to provide them with the information if it was legit

Hi Beth, I was in the exact same situation. We were coincidentally waiting on a call regarding billing issues so the initial conversation actually made sense. Once it got super vague I realized it was a scam, but had already emailed the statement (I didn't question the email because there's like 15 different companies we work with and different departments, etc.) --- Did you ever have any issues with this or able to resolve it?

That person posted here a year ago.  What makes you think that they will be stopping back to answer you?

They called and said they were from Optix Merchant Services. Same story as everyone else here with one variation. When I asked questions about accnt #'s and credit cards and so on, he basically told me I was stupid. I told him there was no reason to be rude and he got really angry and yelled, "FINE! I'll make a note on your account that your fine with the extra charges!" I hung up on him. We don't use any CC Service that should involve these guys.

Received a call from Stephanie also claimed from Merchant Services. She had no issues on my company and I called her bluff she hung up on me

Our business got a call from a "Patty" from "Merchant services."  She mentioned something about an "invalid wage increase" and said that we were being overcharged.  I called the number (855) 869-3905 back and got a recording that said it was Optix Merchant Services and they were closed but I could leave a voice message.  That is NOT our merchant services company, so I hung up and will not call back.  Like everyone else here is saying, it is a scam.

Called wanting to speak to Boss about our merchant account. Don't have one. She would not talk to me so I put her on with Boss. Boss dealt with her and I blocked the number.

Has persitently called four times.  Each time he calls, I am away from the office or busy selling something myself.  Doesn't seem very forthcoming, and I specifically asked if he was trying to get us to switch merchant processing.  He said he doesn't care who we go with.  He is just conducting and 'audit' for Mastercard & VISA.

Came up as "potential spam" on caller ID.  Same as others are reporting.  I told her she was full of S#!T potential spammer; she said "no I'm not" in a sing-songy voice, and hung up...BLOCKED!!

SCAM: same experiences as above, called my merchant provider, they never heard of Optix

Mike from (855) 869-3905 ext: 421 on 09/19/2024 claims to be calling from "Merchant Services", asking for the office manager (was not able to specify the name of any). Scammer.

Pretty much the same scam but, flipped it to make it more personal.  She said I have been flagged for overcharging our customers since July and need to review the statements.  Glad

Received a call from a woman sounding very official and "government like"` saying they were with merchant services and our account was flagged for being overcharged for non PCI compliance. Said they could help me with filing a request to have that corrected, they just needed to get some information from our recent statements. I told the woman calling this sounded just like the scam calls I receive about once a month. She assured me this was not, that their company was with merchant services. I asked her why does my caller ID show up as Optix Pro? She then got sort of vague about their relationship and to merchant services and told me they were Optix Merchant something. I told here, why don't you have this conversation with my bank? She said, there's no reason to share our private information. I said, well sorry, but surely you can understand why I would be skeptical when this sounds so much like the other callers wanting to look at our merchant statements. She said, no, they weren't trying to sell anything, but we were being over-charged for PCI non compliance at a higher rate, something like 3.5%, and it should be in the 2's. I told her to mail me something and I'd get back with her. She said, okay, I'll email you something. I told her no, I wanted it in letter form from the USPS. I also told her PCI charges on our statement is something like $58 a quarter, and to be PCI compliant you have to complete some sort of on-line compliance and we don't do it. She said "you aren't PCI compliant?," and I said no. The call ended shortly after that.
