- Umm replies to WJ SpicermanBob posted here 3 years ago. so I have to wonder if he will come back to read your post. They cannot simply put a lien on a paycheck or a bank account. They have to go to court after serving you and win their case. In order to do that, they count on you not showing up, because if you do show up, they have no proof that you actually owe the debt.

- david Russell replies to DAGif you ask them to stop calling on your number, they have to cease the calls for sure else they get law suits. Next time they call ask them to put you on do not call list
- david replies to Pattistandard procedure a debt collector has to follow, cannot disclose the debt without verifying the identity of the debtor, they can only say that its a personal business matter, untill you verify your name, after that these are the things which a legitimate collector needs to verify- address or year of birth.
Unless that's verified no collector can disclose the reason for call, but I suggest you ask where he is calling from they have to identify the company. - david replies to dominoyou won't find messages in voicemail as a debt cannot be disclosed to a third party as per fdcpa law's.

- Harassed replies to JeanNEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE OUT A SS# - NEVER!!!!!!! Even doctors DO NOT need it - we all have an INSURANCE #, for companies, we have an account # ....I worked lots in the financial, banking, mortgage field -- ALWAYS BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- HARASSED replies to alice germany| 1 replySO ... Credence Resource Management is a identity theft STEALING scam company. Don't know where YOU are from, but we in the U.S.A. are NOT stupid and we DO pay our bills on time!!!! HOW do YOU even know that I OWE bills? I personally, like my parents, ALWAYS CK to make sure I DO ALL business WITH the U.S. companies, that is UNTIL I can ck out that "international company" for it's ETHICS AND HONESTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Resident47 replies to HarassedTry reading slowly what the lady said, fourteen months ago: "AT&T ... will forward the payment to CRM". The real fallacy is your common belief that anyone can "just pay the OC". Creditors are typically under contract not to short circuit the hired agency. If "direct payment" is allowed at all, the agreement funnels back the percentage which the agency was going to keep anyway, just as Jean was told. There is no end run around third party collectors. That being the case, when those collectors deny your rights, what does it say of their clients who keep retaining them? What then is the point of scrambling to pay either one except to unjustly enrich lawbreakers?
Let's also toss in the issue of debts sold off rather than assigned. There you can't pay the original creditor at all; the OC is glad to be rid of a nonperforming asset and made a choice to dump it at a loss. While you waste time worrying how to pay the wrong party, the debt buyer has assumed the contractual power to sue to collect. Not so damned simple anymore, is it? - Tygerkat replies to HARASSEDWow, that's a lot of exclamation points.
How is it you can spell long words like "business" and "international" but can't spell a little word like "check"? - diane m replies to ErinI went to emergency room dept 3 years ago.my insurance company paid 100 percent of the bill.i asked credence to send me a bill so I could submit or pay myself they would not I then called my insurance company and they told me not to send them any money
- MaxCalled me claiming they were from some tuition collection company, left a voicemail that was hard to listen to because the Asian guy was insanely fast talking, and also said they have sent letters to my house following the phone call yet I have never received anything from such a source nor owe anything. Definitely a scam.

- SI received multiple calls from Credence Resource Management (debt collector) several days in a row. They left no messages and used a few different numbers, but they are all attributed to the same company on line. Called them back; they were looking for someone whose name I don't recognize. The gentleman at Credence said they must have a wrong number and he'd take my phone number off their list.
