Just received  a letter as described above but marked personal and confidential;  free two round trip tickets within the continental United States. "Fly a US Airline" is the title...  must call within 10 days or someone else will be awarded the tickets.   Call Carla Streetman, Guest Services Manager 855-879-8217.

Yup, yup - got my very urgent, very official notice today from "Fly a US Airline".  I eagerly opened it up thinking that it was a bank issued check from a dead beat client that owes me $5k, but no.  It was sadly just a scam letter.  I hope that Justin, the journalist, actually investigates.  Curiosity really is the great distraction to common sense.  So, I wait for the update post from Justin to satisfy my vicarious curiosity.

Yes. Another scam! We have had 2 different mail offers from this same scam company towards the end of 2013. Another offer arrived in the mail today. No postmark although the outside of the folding scam letter has been imprinted with a Tampa, FL Permit # 78. This one has been imprinted with the "name" of a Carla Streetman. It is unfortunate that some unsuspecting recipients of this garbage will fall victim once again!

I feel bad.  It took them that long to reach US.  But we finally got our free ticket notice in the mail today.

I just, today, received a letter informing me that I qualified for an award----blah, blah, blah. So sad it's a scam. Because I won't be calling the phone number to speak to Carla Streetman, another person will be awarded my travel vouchers. I hope thst person doesn't take the bate.

Seems this scam is alive and well.
Received the same letter dated May 8th, 2014.

    Used my middle initial.

However, some of the bad spelling and capitalization noted by other people has now been fixed, so it is starting to read more reasonably.

It came in one of those tear-off-the-sides type envelopes that are used for pins etc.
Signature was Carla Streetman and same phone number.
They are citing US Air, Southwest and Jet Blue -- and the Marriot.

Note on back of letter states "Taxes & registration fees and/or processing are the responsibility of the recipient.  This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Marriott or any other third party business referenced in this promotion but they are major suppliers."
(wording is theirs … not mine).

I'm gonna call them to iritate the sales person. It makes for A fun telephone call to let them know that you want the whole kit'n kaboodle. Then when they ask for your information let them know your waiting on a lump sum payment from JG Wentworth and that you need to transfer money first and see if they can call you back. When they do change your tone and let em know you have no clue what thier talking about. Then let them start all over, they have your name  so ask them to sign you up for the presentation and don't go. This will save 2 seats that won't be filled. If we all did this they would loose more then gain.... hahahha! Get them excited give them a random card number and then when they say it's invalid say it worked when your local tire company approved it for store purchase. Sometimes I pretend to fall asleep. The best call was when I was home alone pretending to shouting obscenities at my wife and kids on why I am the king of my home, and insist that they give me six tickets for my whole family. Then end with thank you for signing me up for their presentation I really hope this isn't a scam or high pressure sales cause I tend to snap and angry at deals like those. Be sure to let them know because of your severe PTSD that you usually carry
a hunting knife and concealed weapon to make you feel safe..... hahahha! Actually had a telesales person say I didn't qualify, and that the lettter or phone call was made by mistake and was intended for someone else.... My wife says I'm nuts... I told her it works and I don't hear from them for a very long time. They must be placing me on the crazy list.

Opened the notice 15 minutes ago.  Appears to be from a "standard" mailing list.  We are all on standard mailing lists.  Shotgun approach to prospecting.  Called the number 855-879-8217.  Got a pleasant pitch from Larry - who was reading off a script after matching my offer code (at the bottom) with my first name.  He says I can pick my vouchers up after listing to a 2 hour presentation (video and verbal) at Global Holidays Travel in Albany, NY.  This is a franchised travel provider who gets a bunch of money up front for providing lousy and expensive travel arrangements.  Just google the name.  Larry obviously works in a boiler-room where they match callers to mail promotions.  The old "win some crap" promotion that has been used to sell timeshares for years.  He did not ask for any info or money or credit card numbers.  Harmless but annoying.  Good luck.

I also called them and they said that I have either traveled in the last 18 months meaning by air, cruise, hotel, or car rental. I haven't. They went on to say that a local travel agency is putting on this promo and we would have to listen to a 90 minute travel cost saving seminar when there but the BIG THING is, I have to be married or co-habituating with my significant other with the SAME address on our drivers licenses. Nada!

Well, I was really disappointed to find out these "free tickets and hotel stay" were just a scam!! LOL. Wow these folks are getting good. They have fixed their grammar and capitalization errors, they changed US Airlines to just US Air, however isn't Jet Blue one word? And All this free just for stopping buy a Wholesale Travel Club to listen to their great ideas for my money. Then walk out free of charge with a great 3 day 2 night vacation on them!! Well, we have found that USPS is selling the list of folks who have P.O. Boxes. Yep, went to my PO Box with my full name. I never use my full name, and several other folks getting their mail also got this wonderful offer too. They'll go broke giving us all this "free deal". Offer number 2DA0508D, dated May 8th 2014, out of Silverdale Washington. Carla Streetman from Guest Services, thank you but I'll just keep my money and save for my own vacation.
