Have been calling my number twice a day for two months. I do not answer 800 calls.

Looking for wrong person.Identified and said they were calling on a recorded line.

Asking me where I use to live and my name,i didn't answer.

These guys called me today.. they asked me all about my personal business.  Of course I didn't offer any of my information to them.  I could barely understand them.

This number kept calling I told them by law you have to provide me with certain information and I'm not giving any information to somebody in India I don't even know. Sally I found out that that my information was shared through my Wireless phone network .lf you read the details of your phone private policy they use anonymous subscriber location data in reporting analytics programs and share web information. Don't forget people we give our networks and our devices permission to access private information and location data. This all started when I tried to make a phone payment to my wireless and accidentally tapped one of them dumb abs and sent my number out .I got the local colleges to stop calling. But this number from India would not stop they even wanted me to verify my social security. I told them I was going to contact the state district attorney in this matter. Sprint has since block that number from calling my phone but I fear it is too late

This is not a collection agency. This is a person or group of persons attempting to get your personal information so that they can steal your identity and steal your money. If it were a collection agency, they would not be calling people who don't owe money. They also would not be asking for social security information, addresses, birthdates, etc etc.

This number needs as many people as possible reporting them. You can report numbers of scammers and other phone numbers that are trying to glean your personal information with the Federal Trade Commission. There is an easy online form here: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

This 800 notes calling has got to be stopped. They should not have access to my private number to randomly call

They are harassing me about a debt I do not owe! I have no outstanding credit cards

Send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter.  They were supposed to have sent you a letter stating that you had the right to dispute the debt within 30 days.  Hdere is everything you need to know:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Repeated calls to cell. I wish they would stop!

I got a call from this number and when I answered, there was dead air answered nd they hung up. I called the number right back and got a representative, who asked for my personal information. I asked them who they were and that I received a call from this number, and the representative transferred me to his supervisor. The supervisor got on the phone and said, "Before I can give out that information I need to verify yours." He kept calling me by my maiden name accented not my married name, which was annoying, and when I corrected him he was very rude. I told him I didn't have the money to pay the debt and he kept pressuring me to set up a payment. I asked if I could call at a later time and he put me on hold. I hung up and they haven't stopped calling me, sometimes up to two or three times a day. They haven't sent me a bill in writing. I'm not answering, just blocking the number. It's very rude to keep calling, they don't seem to mind calling at all hours of the day too. It's harassment. Don't answer their calls!

You just said that it was a bill collector, so why did you put the call type as telemarketer??

Jaclynn they aren't telemarketers, they are bill collectors and it doesn't do any good to tell them to stop calling you on here because this isn't their website.

Debt collectors are governed by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  The FDCPA limits the ways a debt collector may communicate with you (including your employer) about your debt. It is not illegal for a debt collector to call you at work. However, the FDCPA prohibits debt collection calls to your job if the debt collector has reason to know that your employer forbids those calls.

I'd love to hear about this 'routine' lol.  Sounds like it would be funny.

They called asking for someone by name...the name was really close to mine but it had an extra syllable in front of my last name.  I went ahead and hit the prompt to be put through.  The guy came on the line and acted as if I had called them...nope.  He said they were looking for someone that they were in litigation with.  He asked if I was the person they had asked for and I told him that my name was close but not the same as who they were looking for.  I told him that they had the wrong person and that I don't have any outstanding debts and was not in litigation.  He then asked if my birthday matched what he said and it was like 5 years I was born.  He said he would remove my number.....fingers crossed but I won't hold my breath.

They are most certainly a legit debt collector.  They didn't ask for a single bit of personal information from me.
