- AaronUgh, I feel so stupid giving out my cell number on accident when I registered about 4 or 5 domain names at register.com
I never give this number out, so I was very surprised to be getting marketing calls on it. I just had a brain dead moment when I was filling out the registration information. Normally I give out my Google Voice number which is set to Do Not Disturb after business hours.
I'm sorry, I know it's my fault that they have this number, but when they are also selling Private Domain Registration with each domain ($11 - typically more than the domain itself which is saying something), naturally you would think that company would respect your privacy, right?
Wrong. I've asked them politely to take my name and number off their call list at least 5 times now, yet I still get calls!
I'm about to change my attitude from polite to pi$$ed off!- Caller: Register.com

- NotSusanGot a call at approximately the same time each morning for a week from this number on my work cell. I haven't registered a domain name or anything. I picked up this morning and had to wait maybe 5-10 seconds or more for someone to pick up. The person on the other end asked for Susan without identifying who or what he was calling for. I am not Susan and said they had the wrong number, so I never any farther or found out if they would identify why they were calling.

- BrendaMultiple calls daily from this number and no one ever on the other end. I plan to move my domain accounts away from register.com because that is when the calls began. It is harassment and has to be illegal. Get your domain name from anyone BUT these people.

- CculGot this call anew hours after Purchasing domains from register.com. Immediately went to my account and changed my phone number to the number they called me from.
- mpStop calling me!
- JamesIf it is register.com (which I purchased a domain from too), it would make sense. I found this in their privacy policy, it pretty much says "Yeah, you gave us your number and now we're gonna call you":

- TomBI have these guys set up on a phone answering system and the number identified as an "Unwanted Caller" profile. When this profile plays it tells them that "This number does not accept calls from Telemarketers. If you are *not* a telemarketer please press '1', otherwise hang up". Only thing is, when they press '1', I have it looped so it just plays again, for as long as they keep pressing 1. It never goes to a box where they can leave a message. LOL! It gives me a chuckle...lol.

Not sure why they'd call you if you didn't
either buy a domain name from them
or other web services...
I did not invite them to call me... I did
purchase a domain name from them and
am pretty certain that they are calling me
to urge me to buy more stuff.
I just blocked them on my cell phone
with a great free app named "call Control"
I also use a skype phone number and a
google talk phone number... which I can
easily block calls with...
Most of the time, when I buy something
or sign up for a service, I use skype or
google talk numbers
I got a domain name from Register.com
for .99 cents... I know that they are
losing money so, understand why they'd
call me...
Last time they called, I told them I didn't
need or want any of their other services and
they never called me again (about 4 months
ago)
Not a bad company... Just doing a job.- Caller: Register.com
