This is a scam. Claim to be from Canada Revenue Agency and threaten you re owing for tax fraud. They called me yesterday from a different number.

Never answer these calls but this bozo left a message - call or your lawyer should call or you could be arrested - guess it was the usual CRA Scam -- please tell me why citizens are being harassed like this in this country!  Can no agency stop them?  It is pretty bloody sad that they can't!  I am pretty savvy but there are many who would be in a sad state over a call like this..

I got a call from them today.  It was a computerized voice and said they were from the CRA and that I must contact them to prevent further legal action.  If I did not then I would be on the hook for all legal fees.  Looks like the scammers are stepping up their game.

Have been called several times today. Like PM i know these are scams.... there should be a law to protect against this. Blocking one number only gets this con artist(s) to use another number. Truly sad indeed

Just found 2 messages from 'CRA'. Wanted me/or my lawyer  to call them back before I am arrested as they will start legal proceedings against me . Supposedly I will be responsible for all legal fees. They started calling about 3 weeks ago (different phone numbers every week) and on average call 2-3 times per week. All messages they left were either missing first part that should mention a name of a person the call is for or the persons name was pronounced so fast and in such a low tone that you couldn't  even understand it. Just a scam.

I just got a call from the same number, said his name was Michael calling from rev Canada and did I have a criminal lawyer. I told him I did I was going to use him to sue him and that I was reporting him to CRA. He told me you do that and hung up.

I got an automated message yesterday saying to call 18558747480 re money owning CRA.  Today at 7am I get a threatening phone call from a guy with an Indian accent stating he is Agent Kevin Mathews, employee code 1292, case file SC8511; the call was being taped and he read off all this CRA section #'s and said not to interrupt until he was finished with all the information he had to provide to demonstrate CRA has done all that is possible to contact me.  I told him he sounded like a telemarketer and why have I not received any written notification.  He gave two dates registered mail was sent to my address and we were not there to sign.  He read off all this crap about CRA freezing my assests including my house, car, passport, income, etc.  He gave me an emergency number to call 18558885927 and stated that once we hang up, the RCMP will call me within 45 mins. to one hour and I will be taken into custody.  It's terrible that people are subjected to this garbage!

Another occasion it was purportedly from the Immigration office saying that because  I hadn't validated a document, my citizenship was being revoked and I would be deported to the country of my  birth etc... Why cannot the RCMP go after these scammers and book them? Are they from India which is probably why they are outside the jurisdiction of the RCMP? In any case, innocent newcomers and the not so savvy could easily get caught. There should (certainly belive) be a special hell for these rogues!

Two messages left today.  The first part of the message was unclear, but was told that I was going to be arrested and charges laid.

Received 2 messages this morning claiming they were from Revenue Canada and we owed back taxes from 2009. Asked them to send us something in the mail and they said they were sending police to our door if we don't pay. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not give them any personal information. I told them we were calling the police because this is a scam and they hung up on us.

His accent was so dad I could not make out what He wanted as I have a hearing problem, called downstairs for wife to come upstairs to use speaker phone, She took 60 seconds to arrive and said hello, the phone line went into a slow busy signal and than a very fast one which indicated He hung up.It may have been a scam.

I have been getting these messages for 3 months now and am getting so tiered of them. I agree with the others that there should be something some one can do. Wait here they call again after already receiving 2 calls today.

2 voice messages today, one a few minutes ago.  Both from woman's recorded voice.  Beginning of message is missing.  Both messages are scripted recordings along the lines that I need to call them or will face criminal charges and all legal costs.  Enjoying my voicemail more and more, especially the ability to delete these messages.

Received a call from them today. A robotic voice telling me there was legal action being taken against me due to tax evasion and willful misrepresentation of... something. I called back and spoke to someone with a heavy accent who said that i had willfully mislead the government by filing my T4 incorrectly from 2009 - 2013, and that I owed $3971. I could either take it to court, in which case I'd have to pay a penalty of $95,000 or spend 5 years in jail, or I could pay the amount and have an officer come to my house, show me where the mistakes were, and then if I found anything wrong with what they showed me I would get a refund.

I should say that the line was not very good and I was cut off a few times - I called back each time because I thought it was an issue with my cell, and I was in a state of panic over what I was being told. When I asked to speak to someone who spoke normal English, I was hung up on again. I called back once more (I know... shame on me) and the person who answered asked for my credit card number. When I asked why he wanted it, he said he had an emergency. And then he hung up again.

Despite being forwarded to 4 different people over the course of the (many) calls, each person sounded oddly like the first person I spoke to: 'Kevin Jones', ID # 1825855.

Is there no way we can make anyone aware of what is going on? Why isn't this being looked into or reported on?

I got three robocalls from them today.  Tried to call them back from Skype in French to see what would happen, they hung up right away... :)  Called them back and did some Frenglish and they hung up pretty quickly when they asked for my home number and I would not give it to them...  I figure any time I can have fun and waste their time is time not spent by them ripping some poor shmuck off.  I encourage everyone to try to do the same, but don't call from your home number.
