I work for the CRA and that is not the way the CRA does business. Actually, I received 3 of those calls myself... :(
I have no idea what that scam is supposed to lead to, but it sure is annoying...

Just had the same call and conversation as reported in the comments above. Am so very appreciative that others took the time to write up their experience. And I share the disgust that this kind of thing cannot be stopped.

Received repeated calls from 855-888-5929 CRA agents Kenneth & Kevin Mathews , Claimed to be CRA agency and threatened me with arrest and property confiscation if I don't settle claim for $5,887 in fines for tax fraud.

I called CRA, and they confirmed that this is a scam.

Bob....I called the Ottawa fraud squad about this number and they really can't do much about it. The call originates from outside of Canada so it is nearly impossible to trace. I don't answer but I picked up the receiver and quickly hang up. It cuts the call short I find. But NEVER dial that number!

I have been receiving multiple (over 15)  phone calls from these personsand wish to report them. The last conversation, someone told me to go jump in a lake ifI was tired of their phone calls.

These pricks left me 2 messages 3 days ago. Another 2 messages today. They called back when I was here and I answered. I really lit up the con artist on the other end of the line.

As soon as she said she was from revenue Canada, I started screaming at her and calling her every four letter word and insult I could think of! I am pretty sure I just wrecked her effin week!

I have no pity for these crooks.

Got home after a long day to a voice mail from these scammers. A prerecorded voice threatened charges, arrest, legal consequences, etc. This site (and others like it) provide a great public service. I long for the old days, when the phone rang and it was someone you actually wanted to talk  to.

SCAMMERS Call

Claim they are Canada Revenue. Threaten me with arrest. Call numerous times day and night.

I received the same call outlined below. You should take the time to call the Anti Fraud Hotline at
1-888-495-8501 and complain. If enough of us do so, perhaps the authorities will get involved !!

I kept this guy on the phone for half hour actually I scammed him- them told him point blank what to do - use your imagination LOL

Officer James Brown ID  9792148 and Officer Kevin Nash ID 191024 supposedly it was a joke,
Two calls in tonight and other than the nuisance value I led them on gave all false info to them let them do their talk session on arrest me- tax evasion - RCMP - Lien my house - public information to expose me- inform my employer (actually I am the employer) - speak to my lawyer for court tomorrow - I could go on and on. Never did figure out the purpose . So much noise in background very apparent scam attempt but for what I still don't know. Them I told them finally to Stick Everything Up their BUTT. Really now where do they expect to get or gain

This caller (on tape of course) sounds threatening and I have received 3 calls from them today.  If I could get a person instead of a tape, I'd blow a screecher into their ear!!  Very frustrating particularly since I have mobility issues.

This looser keeps calling everyone pretending get to be CRA scamming hard working people of there $ want to pin tail on him like donkey.  Catch this scum bag please have a good day .

Not that easy to catch these guys, especially when they're disguised by spoofed numbers. What is easy is dashing any chances of getting scammed by not answering unknown numbers at all if you are able. A scam is impossible without a victim since these crooks can't play alone.

This phone number just called and claiming that he called from Income Tax Revenue Canada.

This call was a computer-generated voice, saying a legal case has been registered against my name, and if I (or my lawyer) do not contact them, I will be on my own  in terms of handling the legal business. I do believe this is a scam, but the language is very upsetting, and I can see a senior citizen being very frightened by this call.

Got the same call today....I called back and gave them the phone number to the OPP....the fellow asked if my name was Mother F**ker.....he must have been having a bad day.
