If you did not get a text from the number at the top of this thread, then why are you here in this thread?

They’re Threatening You
Real debt collectors are prohibited, by law, from threatening you. So if your debt collector is continually threatening you with serious actions then it’s safe to say that it is probably a scam. Real debt collectors absolutely want to be paid right away but they will not threaten to sue you or get you arrested if you don’t pay them right that moment. Furthermore, if you’re ever to actually be sued you will be served with papers and not threatened over the telephone.

Real debt collectors are not always the nicest of people and they will sometimes try to intimidate you but if it gets out of hand ask what agency they work for and then call back so you can speak with another collector. Obviously if they refuse to tell you this information then you should take it as another sign that you are in fact being scammed.

harassing calls from 7am - 5pm for weeks looking for someone

I am getting calls from this number looking for Charlene or Charline. I don't know any person with that name. They keep calling

Called everyday for a person who we don't know, told them we have our number for over 8 years and nobody by that name is here.  Every time they said they will remove our number from their record but keep calling everyday.

Call every day 4,5 times harassment use bad language, ask about national background and insulting person saying his name Harvey .

They have been calling me too. Something about a Sears card apparently from 1999. I can safely say I've never had a Sears card.

Called my cell phone for a person that I don't know, the mistake I made is I called them back with my home phone to tell them no such person and stop calling my cellphone for him.  The did stop calling my cell phone but calling my home phone instead for that person.  They won't stop even I told them no such person.  This guys are really annoying, anywhere that I can file a complaint?

FDR collections calling about a Zellers credit card debt. I have never had a Zellers card and Zellers has been gone a long time.

If answered, NO ONE replies to me - they are harassing and have no proof to send to me via email, etc. I have blocked their nos. each time they call but it still goes to my voicemail and 'fills it up'! I have l'ost' 5 dear family members in the past year (one being my dear mother 9 mos. ago :( ) and am grieving and don't need this additional Stress!!! This is most annoying, and to change my number costs ME $ and will be 'problematic' for me as I am in the health profession. I am on the national DNC list, but apparently that means nothing...

Some annoying debt collector - he's rude and unprofessional - we just blocked their number.

(1) Answered the phone, no response from FDR agent (2) Next time said "Please send us all your info, including your rates & options. And take our phone number off your list" (3) 3rd thru 6th times went to our answerring machine & they left no message. (4) 6th thru 9th time (today), I just disconnect their call.
