This person left a message that an official complaint had been filed about me. I t was a recording.

Is this the first time they've called you?? I have been getting calls like this for a few years now and nothing ever happens. I am pretty sure it is a scam and if you block the number, they will use a different number and NEVER stop.

This is a scam. This company is ASG and it is based out of Amherst,NY. ( I found this on one of the many complaint forums online)  I received a call from a woman by the fictitious name of "Natalie Simmons". This is a collection agency and they're posing as a law office. I asked for the company's BAR number and she told me to "shut my mouth because she didn't have to provide me that info". I asked her for the account number that she was collecting on and she also refused to provide me that information. She was extremely unprofessional.  I have done quite a bit of research on this company and have found that they are using several different numbers to try and hide and beat the system. I found several sites where other consumers have complained about the many FTC and FDCPA violations. Here are a few of the sites that I have found through my research:

Please if you get a call from this company posing as a law office by the name of ASG LITIGATION call your local attorney general, and New York state attorney general at 1-800-771-7755 because that is where they're location. Make them aware of this scam. Also by no means provide them your information to pay on a debt until you receive a verification of debt from them. They are purchasing your information and making up fake debts to extort you. If I can save one person from getting scammed by them then I feel a little bit better about being a victim myself. I fell for their lies and had to change my card information and go thorough hours and fees to do a charge back.

They always call from a different number and what they say is "We are calling in regards to a formal complaint that has been filed against you. If you have any information leading to the wherabouts of this individual, contact our office immediatley. Our next step is to file the necessary paperwork." They don't say what their name is when they leave a message nor do they say what office or company they are calling from. They are very intimidating (however, they have been doing this to me for years after I did 1 online loan with a ligit company that I paid off promptly). They call and call for about a month, then leave me alone for a few months. Then they begin calling from a different number. I never answer. They have also gotten ahold of my work phone # some how which pisses me off. The latest number they have called from is 855-870-5269. I can block each number they call from and they ALWAYS call with a different phone #.
