“ it's Mia Torres if you can give me a call back when you receive this at 855-917-0677 I'm not sure that you received a notice that went out recently regarding your federal student loans but just in any case I wanted to give you a phone call because I don't want your prequalified status to change especially the qualifications for forgiveness or possible long discharge him so if you had a few minutes I really just wanted to go over those details with you but I do hope to hear from you soon and have a great day…”

I called the number back and spoke to Jacob Carson. Said that he was my student loan agent. He had my address, last four of my social and email. I think they have too much info to be a regular scammer. He said that 99% of my student loan amount would be forgiven after 120 months of (payments of 0) said that he couldn't send any info unless I gave him a credit or debit card number RIGHT THEN. I said that I wanted to read over the documents first; he said that he couldn't even send it without having a card number, even if it was old and didn't work anymore. I told him that I would do the research then call back. He was very adamant about getting a card number before getting off the phone. These scammers are getting better every day.

Got a call from Mia Torres about loan forgiveness many times. Decided to call back and a male answered so I asked for Mia - he said she was unavailable and then mumbled something so I apologized for not understanding and asked him to repeat what he said and he said “whatever” and hung up.

THEY CHANGED MY FSA ID PASSWORD WITH MY EMAIL.
I received the same phone call and voice message from Mia Torres on November 22, 2021 and December 2, 2021 offering federal student loan forgiveness or discharge through pre-qualified status. I dialed this number on December 5, 2021 to get more information. The representative said his name was Dylan he asked for my graduation date, household size, occupation, and email used for my Federal loans is all I can remember now. He gave me a password for this “application process”.
The information I provided for Daniel to pass along to an “underwriter” while we were on the call claimed I could have approximately $6000 of my federal student loans forgiven. Daniel pressured me to enroll in this program throughout our 12 minute call. I stated I needed more information to figure out what was best for me. I was pushed to enroll before the program expired. He said this “program plan” enrollment would be four $195 monthly payments and then $5 monthly payments for 240 MONTHS based on my criteria that I gave prior, (graduation date, household size, occupation). I did not enroll during the call. They did not get my credit card information. But I provided my email during the call. Shortly after I received an email from the U.S. Department of Education that my Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID was changed. I did not change my FSA ID password and I had provided this data to “Daniel” moments before my FSA ID password was changed. They changed my pw with my email. BEWARE! These calls seem legitimate during the call and the voicemails are good at being real.  Studentaid.gov has articles on student loan scams. They state if you are eligible by specific criteria that the loan forgiveness or discharge would not be immediate while your student status is ‘in school’. Loan forgiveness is specific to health or education industries, in one example. Loan forgiveness is not for the general student that does not have specific circumstances. Being employed full time in specific industries, working for some non-profit, and having already paid some of your student loans is usually when student loan forgiveness becomes an option. I’m not a student loan officer or professional but I learned at student loan forgiveness is not immediate like this call from “Mia Torres” and “Daniel try to sell. Beware if it’s too good to be true! Do not give your personal information. Check with fasfa, student aid.gov, and your loan servicer instead! These third parties have no business or power over helping you with your federal student loans. These third parties are likely unnecessary middle men that cost more than money they can find for you or they are even scammers. Beware
