Omg I just got called for this bogus scam, the number is 8559489675
His name was Ryan carter, and I told him my lawyer needs your information and all of a sudden the phone broke up and he hung up the phone ... Bogus scammers!!!

These people are calling me constantly, after reading this forum I cussed they ass out and asked why the f*** do you have an american name, but barely can speak english. The guy told me he had my IP address and wished me good luck. Well....luckily I'm at work and they have excellent virus protection and I actually saw the pop-up balloon at the bottom that said someone just tried to attack my computer, but their attempts were blocked. These people are crazy!!!!! There has got to be  solution???!?!?! They try to trick you to say that you are approved for a loan and want your account information to deposit the money, well don't do it!!!! They'll withdraw your account empty!!! Just give them choice words each time they call...wink wink.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Ignore them.  They are nothing more than debt scammers.  Read the other posts.  They are trying to scare you into paying them something.  They will threaten you will all kinds of legal jargon, most of it meaningless.  You can't be arrested for civil debts.  There is no warrants and no police and no jail.  Don't let them scare you.

Don't pick up on calls you don't recognize.  Don't call them; don't talk to them and do NOT give them any money or information. They are basically criminals.

Tell 'em to go to hell, if you happen to talk to them again.  Repeat it loudly, over and over again.

I had gotten the message frm my mother and didnt know any of this! I called and set things up cuz it was for a place I owed already and hadnt paid yet! What do I do?

Ignore them.  They are scammers working out of India.   If there is a legitimate debt from a legitimate company have them send you a letter with all the particulars of the debt, this must be sent by US mail.  E-mail no good.  

But these people are nothing but scammers trying to frighten you into paying money to them.  Ignore their threats.  There is not jail, no arrest, no police.  Civil debts are a civil matter.

First thing in the morning, call your bank and tell them to cancel your card and put fraud alerts on your accounts.  If your callers have your SSN, you should probably look at getting identity theft protection.  You should also contact at least one of the three credit bureaus - Experian, Equifax or TransUnion - and ask them to place fraud alerts on your credit files too.

Cancel all your cards and get new ones.  Do it QuickTime!   If they have other financial information such as bank account numbers, close them out and get new ones.  Inform the bank that you have been defrauded by these scammers.  Maybe they can reverse the transaction.

Unfortunately, these Indian scammers buy and sell information, so you might get still more calls.

Get a call blocker.  Do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.  Don't talk to them.  

Again, get to the bank QUICKTIME!

They had my last four of my social already sumhow. They made sure it was me before going any further. My mom suggested I call us bank to make sure where the collections went to. And how wld they have her number to get ahld of me??!!

And they only got my bnk card number. ..

These people are just horrible. They scared the living daylight out of me with some bogus carp they made up trying to ruin my whole life. Please don't listen to these people or give them anything. Tell them whatever and lets go to court and to stop calling because that's harassment. If we all work together people won't have to go through this. This is the coldest thing I have ever had done to me. I am going to so everything I can do to make sure this'd doswnt happen to another person. 18006571430 is the new number I spoke with Nicole,grant,and micheal the supervisor and james and they all hung up on me and called me rude  because I was asking questions than I called agaun and grant got on the phone and said she was in another call

Just got a call from this company today threatening to file charges against me for a debt I allegedly owe.  The caller was "investigator" Nadia Johnson.  She asked if I wanted to settle in or out of court, when I said out, she said she had to check with the attorney. After putting me on hold for 30 seconds, she came back on the line and said we could settle this out of court.  When I asked for her to mail me paperwork on what exactly it is I owe, she said they could only send me an email, and only after I've made my first payment.  It is illegal for any company that is trying to collect a debt to not provide you with paperwork.  I told her my lawyer said to not make any payments without a mailed document, she said that their office is totally paperless. HOW IS A LAW OFFICE COMPLETELY PAPERLESS?? BOGUS!!!! i then asked her if her company was acredited by the BBB.  She put me on hold for THREE MINUTES...how did it take her only 30 seconds to confer with an attorney about "pressing charges" but over 3 mins to find out about the BBB?  I then asked since she is an investigator is she affiliated with any law enforcement office, if so, where did she go to the police academy at and what office is she affiliated with? She said "well, investigator is my title but no I'm not associated with a law enforcement group.  It is ILLEGAL for a debt collector to not provide written verification of the debt.  Do not pay unless they can provide you with paperwork!!  I told her I would contact her next week and if they call me again I'm telling them I'm not paying unless they can provide me with proof that this is my debt.

855-947-7266 is a number of a fraudulent company. They are going by the name Ryan, Carter, and Field. A law firm they say from South Carolina. IGNORE anything they say to you. They try to get you to verify the last 4 of your social security number. DON'T DO IT

This office has called me about a debit. I filed bankruptcy over a year ago and this was apart of it.
