- Janett replies to DJI can't believe it, my caller used the exact same words and also sounded "motherly."
- bostonHolly replies to LMLI agree. I haven't answered my business line in years unless I recognize the customer's number (plugged into my system). However, the spam, spoofed & junk calls have become so incessant that I also no longer answer my unlisted, private- line, "Luckily"? for me the additional line is relatively inexpensive @ $10/ mo. as it's piggybacked to the business line. But with fax, DSL (SLO) + fees & taxes the landline is costing me $95/mo. to not be able to use it 75% of the time. No, i don't have a SmartPhone. I have a DumbPhone, thank God they don't have that number for the most part but I do receive the occasional, unsolicited text. If I didn't need and prefer for sound clarity& privacy & 'other' reasons, a landline I'd loose it - at this point in life, to save $$ I've cut back to such bare bones LL service it's almost a joke to keep it. But cannot have LifeLine w/out it.
- BostonHollyIf it's the Breast Cancer Society type caller it's the biggest scam out there. Do not answer do no call back do not ever give money.
- Caller: CCI - SCAM
- Call type: Prank
- BH replies to B-EdwardsNothing "pisses them off" it's a business, they just move on to the next possible "Mark". The most advantageous move any of us can make is to ignore and report.

- Kathryn replies to DJ| 3 repliesWow..I also got the SAME exact call today as DJ & Janett did. It really did sound like a computer voice at first but then I kept interrupting asking *What is your name again?*, the person finally replied *oh I'm sorry my name is Maria*, but kept on talking. I finally was able to cut in again and say I just experienced a death in the family, this jerk replied *things are hard for everyone* & started the whole *you're harder to reach than getting my kids to clean their room* thing again. I just hung up thinking this *woman* must be some type of automated computer to ignore what I just said.. But the weird part is how it did reply to two questions, so I'm not really sure. How sad to use such a horrible thing as breast cancer as a guise for a scam. And these *computer people* are starting to sound a little too real..kind if scary. I'd like to file a complaint or notify someone of this but no idea how.
- Paul-CAnd they just called again.

- Smarter Than The Thieving Scammers replies to GorillaThis is one of the PHONY, FAKE Charities started by the INFAMOUS **REYNOLDS FAMILY** of Tennessee. Recently, one of those scoundrels was arrested and tried and made to STOP doing this - for life. But, the whole family is in on it - and are MILLIONAIRES from these scams, so it looks like they are ignoring the Court Case and the Law and are at it again.
Everyone is smart to hang up and block. And to answer your question, unfortunately, the legal call times per the FTC are 8AM to 9PM, a full thirteen hours to harass us daily. I've had calls at 8:00AM, 8:02AM, 8:09AM, etc.
Still, you can report that you believe this is a FAKE charity (those are NOT exempt) to the FTC via

Good Luck, All! - Smarter Than The Thieving Scammers replies to KathrynThis is the new generation of computer software, it called AI (Artificial Intelligence) and it is programmed to recognize certain responses from humans, similar to how a lot of voice mail systems ask for a verbal response and can direct your call that way. It designed to mimic humans, eliminating the need to hire a live person, and make the human on the other end think they are talking to a live person (sometimes.)
As for reporting, there are many options, but, if your number is registered with the DNC list, then the place to start complaining is: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
Good luck, I hope this helps!
(We got this call today while we were at work, so that's why I'm here finding who it was/what scam it is!) Thanks to all who braved the call to find out for us & reported it here! - LMLThese annoying scammers called again, this time today at 1502 hours. My caller ID disconnected the call, so they called back immediately, which often times gets around my call blocker. Hoping it was actually the "free" security system scam (so I could have fun with them), I picked up the call, but it had already disconnected again. These morons are really, really persistent.
- Caller: scam artist pretending to be charity
- Noise MakerEarly morning calls from this number. Verizon Fios triple play does not offer call block anymore in their digital phone service. There business dept. for sales, in my opinion. are signing up business services and giving out customer's phone # list as a bonus to sign contract with them..
- Caller: CCI
- Smarter Than The Thieving ScammersThis number called us - AGAIN - at 8:49PM EDT; eleven short minutes before the legal deadline to STOP calling. Fortunately, I'd BLOCKED this number from first time it called us, last FRIDAY (8/5/16). This is another of the IMFAMOUS **REYNOLDS FAMILY** Phony, FAKE 'charity' SCAMS that they have used to make themselves MILLIONAIRES and virtually NOTHING goes to any real beneficiaries of what the charities' name claim.
Examples are "UNITED BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION" (THIS call, even though Caller ID says "CCI".)
"AMERICAN VETERANS SUPPOR FOUNDATION"
"INSTITUTE FOR CANCER RESEARCH"
"CHILDREN'S CANCER FUND"
"OHIO FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION"
"POLICEMEN'S BENEVOLENT LEAGUE"
and more.....
ALL FAKE, PHONY SCAMS, enriching this family and their 'circle' of friends, ONLY..- Caller: CCI/REYNOLDS FAMILY SCAMS
