Eversource competitor offering "huge" discounted savings ;)

We got a call from this number today at 4:20 pm and didn't answer. No voicemail message was left. The caller ID was MASSACHUSETTS. The number is spoofed. When I called back (our number is hidden by default on outgoing calls) I heard a recording which said "We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialed." Thanks to the others who posted information about this number. It will be added to our call blocker. I highly recommend such a device to avoid these nuisances.

Awaiting a call from Boston, picked this up thinking it was then.  How come junk mail was ultimately reined in and controlled but this kind of phone junk NEVER is?

Eversource scam. David Lazarus of the Los Angeles Times had a GREAT story last week explaining that the major phone carriers have no incentive to do anything that would actually cut down on scams and phishing because they make money off every outgoing call the scammers make.

The FCC is grossly under-staffed, vastly over-worked & has responsibilities to deal with that are far more important than baby sitting semi-literate fools who aren't intelligent enough to buy themselves call blockers & apps. Caller ID says "MASSACHUSETTS".  They leave no message.

I call back during business hours (using *67 to block my number).  I hear the following, "the number you have dialed is not in service."

So spoofed caller ID and the inability to be called back.  Smells like a SCAM.

I like reptiles, they do us no harm.  ;-).   Humans, on the contrary, do lots of harm to everything ....

I never pick up , it was just some 857 (up here typically indicative of a cell phone caller) number

Got a call on my cell from 857 990-9349 from "Boston MA". Eversource savings. Kevin said he was representing Discount Power from Auburn MA. As soon as I mentioned that I was on the do not call list he hung up. I called discount Power in Shelton CT, they said I was not on their list (as I should not be). So it's a scam using Eversource and National Grid accounts.

How was junk mail reined in? I've written to my Congressman twice and never got a clear response. Congress is too indebted to the junk mailers and the postal workers' union. The Do-Not-Call list got rid of the legal telemarketers (who were still scum). Now we only get telemarketing calls from criminals. BTW, it costs a lot more to send junk mail than to make robocalls.

Blocking numbers is of limited value, because telemarketers keep changing the number. You must be aware that the cID is often faked.

Tele-maggot tactics are well known here. As long as there are deep-dwelling scum willing to be paid to be minimum wage to be sludge, there will be those of us here waiting to point out the fact.

When you call the # 1-857-990-9349 it will not connect.  But when they call it pops up as Massachusetts, They usually
call three times in a row. Very annoying....... They nvr leave a message.

I got a call from this nasty number, w/o any talk or message. I have received the same calls from: June 7, 2016: 323-741-3873, 703-565-2029  June 3, 2016, 508-598-0493, 313-477-5074, 763-307-5755, 203-274-8586 May  31st , 2016, 212-465-9832  on August 2nd, 2016 and 781-721-0347 on August 20th, 2016. There is a mafia behind these calls, should not be taken lightly. I was working for AshiT&T for 1 year. They have ineligible b ast ard managers, among them Michael Murphy who had come from wireline and knew as much as a cow about wireless or even less. Very soon I will reveal my documents with a lot of discussion and analytic arguments about the incompetent managers of AshiT&T and announce the respective websites to all techs of AshiT&T and its customers, so that they decide how to discipline these low IQ cowboys that are wasting the poor customers paid bills with mismanagement. This bull s hit Michael Murphey did not approve my mileage, my vacation w/o any reasonable excuse and I have a bulk of documents about this fart and his pi mp manager. AshiT&T must kick out these ineligible managers and confess their stupidity otherwise will lose its credential. I will reveal these documents one by one and invite all to study them using written announcement in all shopping centers and this will be continued until kicking out announcement via AshiT&T trash box website.
