I did something kind of similar. I strung them along as long as I could and then asked them about certain sexual habits of their mother. They eventually hung up on me. How rude? Can you imagine that?

She (Indian accent) told me my windows machine was having trouble. I happened to be on a linux box. I told her to email me about the issue. She hung up. Too funny.

Got a call this morning. Informed the caller I was not allowing any phone solicitations and that I wanted my number removed from their calling list. He tried to tell me he was not soliciting. I repeated my statements. He said, "Listen, just listen..." I repeated my statements. He said, "Yes. We will remove your number. But, listen. Your computer is unsafe."  I asked him what company he represented. He said he was not selling anything but only wanted to warn me about my network safety and told me it was very dangerous to do any banking transactions on my network. I told him "I am not interested. Please remove my number from your call lists." He kept repeating, "listen, listen, I just need you to listen..."  I was at a drive-thru waiting on breakfast so I just placed the phone on speaker and said nothing more. He kept asking, "Ma'am? Ma'am? Are you there? Ma'am?"  Then, he started talking with another guy next to him. He again asked, "Ma'am? Ma'am?"   When I still didn't answer, I think I heard some new curse words then he hung up.
Overall, good entertainment value if you're bored.

Those multiple hang up calls might have been an attempt to keep eBay or the sellers to contact you by phone. This method is called TDoS - Telephone Denial of Service.

I got a call from "windows support" yesterday.  It was a male caller with decent English, but, an Indian accent.  I told the guy that I had a Mac computer, and he said, "OK," and he hung up.  About 45 seconds later, the exact same guy called me back and said he was "MAC support."  I was like, "Dude, you just called me!"  And, he said, "Yes, but, I cam calling from MAC support this time."  He told me that they were receiving signals from my COMPUTER that it was being hacked.  I was 90 minutes away from home, in the middle of the day, and my PC was not even turned on.  I educated him of that fact, to which he replied that it was my IP address that was sending signals.  I asked him if it was the carrier cable modem router or if it was the secondary security router that I had, and he seemed a little put off by that.  Since he was royally full of excrement, I asked him if he ever attended any of the cybercrimes safety meetings, to which he replied, "I'm with the FBI."  At that point, I said, "yea, you scammers sure are "Famous BS Inflicters!"  He said, "You don't have to be like that Sexy!"  I'm a dude.  When the male caller calls you sexy, you know it's not professional ...  I told him good try, but, I wasn't buying his story, and I hung up on him.

I got a call from this number and the guy with the heavy accent this morning. Same spiel, they had detected that there was a problem with my internet security and that I had a virus, and that I had to turn on my computer so he could check on it. He said he had the license number for the software, so I told him to tell me the license number so I could write it down and compare it to my computers. He's like "No, you have to turn on your computer and then I can tell you". I kept telling him that if he had the license number there, then he needed to tell it to me so I could write it down. I fought with him on it for a couple of rounds, then told him I knew this was a scam so he could get remote access to my computer. He he said no, it wasn't. I then asked to speak to his supervisor. He said "I am the supervisor." I said "Okay, then I'd like to speak with your manager." He said "I am the manager. I'm the boss." I told him "I find that very hard to believe. I'd like your phone number so I can call you back."

    He hung up. Go figure.

Just got the same call and I wonder if there's a way to block this guys IP address? Before I knew what was happening I downloaded some of his software. I was suspicious When he asked if I was a senior, must be easier to scam seniors! I don't know if he has control of my computer so I wondered if I could block his IP address. Any help would be appreciated.

Keep in mind that it's quite possibly 730 PM at their location and these crooks care nothing about time, day, age, or health. Their intent is stealing from and cheating the public and there are no breaks for them. A call blocker or blocking app could throw a monkey wrench in their plans.

Yeah. I googled hcpl industry and got a lame web page for something called Helm consultants. . It has a home page with some pics and a contact us tab with an address. I guess it is going to be used to show how legitimate they are🙃

Same as others. Computer scam. I love reading all of the stories of people messing with these idiots. I have two concerns. 1.  It seems these people think they are really convincing and appear to be offended when they are confronted.  Are the callers stooges so desperate for money that they sell their souls? 2.  This same scam has been going on for years, which means they are hoodwinking enough people to stay in business. Wish someone could come up with a way to run them out of business.
