- SavviThis number called both my phone and my husbands phone at the same time... i answered thinking this was weird and my husbands phone stopped ringing as soon as i did. Though we have really [***] connection here and they couldn't hear me at all, it was someone with a british (or like) accent. i was curious and looked around and found this. So glad they hung up after not being able to hear me, but i wanted to know, am I at risk for just answering?
- RonaldCalle ID on my phone said China. Caller was obviously in a boiler room telephone center -- lots of background chatter. Said my computer was infected with a varius. Before he could continue his spiel, I hung up.

She sounded like she was calling from a call center with other voices in the background although most call centers don't have voices in the background today so I wonder if it was also a set up. Any how. she wanted to know if I was the owner.. Its a scam DONT GIVE OUT INFO... MICROSOFT HAS INFO ON IT!
- Rusty replies to Sher Ellison| 28 repliesReceived call from 860-540-6999 - Bristol, CT, man with India accent. Man said he worked for Windows and they had detected that my computer had problems which need correction and to go to my computer where he'd walk me through steps to identify problem and provide software to fix it. I entertained him because I was bored and wanted to waste his time, as it was an obvious scam of some sort. I kept telling him I clicked what he request I click, and told him he should see my responses. Eventually when I tired of it all I started asking him weird questions to annoy him (like if he was missing any teeth, had he every been to Lotus, dose he like milkshakes) - he hung up on me. My computer has always works like a champ and I have never had any (fortunately) ID theft problems in my life.
- SavyGuyGot the same call - guy with Indian Accent saying my computer and firewall had been compromised. I enjoyed getting aggressive with him to by asking him when he hacked into my system and was intercepting packets between my PC and ISP. He said 'he was not on my PC, he just new...cause he was with Windows Legal'! When he said the solution was for me to turn on my PC and let him know when, it was obvious he wanted to remote into my PC. I told him it must be tough where he was but he shouldn't steal from people. I called him a scumbag and hung up :)
It scares me to think how this would have gone down if it were my elderly neighbor... - johnStupid indian scammer claiming he needed to fix my computer

Suddenly they changed tactics and told me all computers connected to the Internet were infected! I td her I knew this was a scam and I don't need any help from her as I work in IT! She hung up on me.
- ChristiMy husband and I both received a call from this number 20 minutes apart on our cell phones. Both sounded like they were from Asia. They both said that for the last 2 weeks they have been getting a message from our computer about some programs we have are damaging our computer. We told them that we were not interested and hung up.

- sdmiddle eastern male claiming to be from windows telling me my computer was downloading viruses without me knowing it. started asking things about my computer and I would answer his questions with questions of my own. this being annoying to him he started getting verbally aggressive telling me to shut up. well being the person that I am, it made me talk more and asked more questions. after about four minutes of this I told him the trace was complete and he would be contacted soon, in person. he was not the happiest of people and told me to perform a certain act to him. I politely refused and told him that he would be able to get all he wanted when he was convicted and sat it prison. needless to say he hung up.

- AnnoyedI also received a call from a man with an Indian accent, claiming to be with Geek Squad and they received an alert that my computer was downloading unauthorized information or something like that. I told him I wasn't even on my computer. He got upset when I told him I will not go to my computer. I asked if he even knew who he was calling. He said Yes. I said OK what's my name?!
