Called mother in laws house and left message for my husband to call. Said they sent a letter and it was returned. This is untrue.

Called and said that they were from the mail room and had a letter they have been trying to send to me, but it had been returned. I asked what company he was with, but he didn't say. He kept saying that the letter was from "CS Company" and gave me their number to contact customer service. He kept trying to verify my address, they address they said, was close but I didn't tell them they were right or wrong, and just said that i would contact the someone at the number they gave me. I haven't called the number.

A bit of googling on this number indicates that it belongs to a collection agency named Credigy Receivables, Inc. that often represents itself as a company named Stewart & Associates. (One internet message forum notes that Credigy and Stewart & Associates are one and the same company.)  Another name which kept popping up in relation to this Credigy number Credit One (a collection agency).

And here's a consumer message concerning Credigy posted to Bud Hibbs on his website: "Credigy Receivables, AKA Stewart & Associates Suwanee, GA, April 8, 2006. Thanks to you and your staff, I have successfully driven off Credigy and their 'in-house' attorneys, Stewart & Assoc. They filed suit on me, I responded with the info provided by your website, and after about a year, they voluntarily 'dismissed with prejudice'. They are still reporting a bogus, inflated amount on my credit reports as well as mis-representing the debt as an 'installment' account held by a factoring company. I have disputed the file, with the information that they cannot prove any information they are reporting. I hope the bureaus do more than a cursory look-see at this. Thanks again for your website, your great staff and the great service you have provided."

Interestingly, there's no street address listed on their website nor in the Yellow Pages.  However, a message posted in 2005 on an internet consumer message forum list these two mailing address for Credigy:
