- BigA replies to EytriaThe BBB has no regulations. Collection is covered under Federal and State laws. The information you need has been posted here in this thread several times. Use it to your advantage to prevent this bunch of criminal from making you their next victim.

- Pittsburgh Scam GurusBournview Recovery Group aka BRG is now using phone number 877-210-0263. They alternately call themselves a claims processor and/or a collections agency, depending on who you speak with. What they actually do is work for brokers who purchase bundles/portfolios of old payday loan applications & internet info. Their job is to call people on behalf of the broker & attempt to extort folks into paying off balances on old debts -- Regardless of whether the loan was even approved & funded, regardless of it has been paid off for years. They are hoping to get people on the line, rattle them with info about some internet payday loan from 5-10 years ago, & scare them into paying up on the spot. Most consumers don't have time to research a payday loan from 2009, & since they are telling you that it's a time-sensitive matter, they are banking (no pun intended) on the fact that most people will choose to "resolve" it by just handing over the money. Best thing to do, besides reporting them, is to refuse to pay one damn dime & demand that they send you something in writing so that you may then do research on the matter. Usually they will refuse to do so, then hang up & move on to the next person on their list.......

- Amber| 1 replyI got a call from them a long time ago and stupid me fell for it. They have been taking $100 a month out of my account and when i try to contact them no one answers. Now disputing all the charges with my bank and getting my money back. Absolutely ridiculous!!
- AKG| 2 repliesMy daughter called me to advise she received a call from BRG looking for me and to have me call them. I called the number she gave me and it was disconnected or no longer in service. Then I received a call from a different number leaving me a message to call "Jamie" so I called. A man answered and would not tell me what this was about, he transferred me to a "case manager" who also would not tell me what the call was about until I verified the last 4 of my social security number which I refused to do so she said "then we can go no further I'm sending this back". Today they called again leaving a voice message to call them. I called and same thing, had a nice verbal exchange with the guy who states they will continue to call. I'd just block them or ignore the calls but they are calling my family members. No reputable agency would ask for information without telling you what they are calling about I.e. This is BRG we are a debt collection agency attempting to collect a debt. They do not demand info without telling you why they are asking for it. Making it stop is the dilemma now, I will call the FTC and report it, meantime it's time to bust out he police whistle and give them an earful when they call. ; )
- Caller: BRG
- AKG replies to jennifer osborneThey did not identify seeking to collect a debt when they called me, they said "an important business matter".
- Annthis company is a scam....someone took my private phone number and used it, and now this BRG is calling my home looking for this person, they would not tell me anything. So I told them to remove my number from their company, and I gave them my last name, and stated unless you have business with me and my last name, then you need to remove my personal information! The girl named "Liz" who was the representative, was a rude girl, and so I told her I was recording all of the conversation, and she said she would now remove my phone number and hung up on me. Just tell them your recording the conversations....and watch them run!

- BOGUS| 1 replyIf you google maps their address....You'll find out that it takes you to a mobile station and nothing else close by to have a 2nd story or an office building. This place is a scam. They said i owed $3000.00, but would close my account if i'd send them $1800.00. Would not provide proof.

- BigA replies to BOGUSWhile that might be true, if you look at the larger map you see that there is a UPS store there. The Suite # would be the PO Box they are renting in that store.
- RL replies to AmberYour own fault.
- RL replies to AKG| 1 replySue the pants off of them. FTC is worthless. Get a good consumer law lawyer, it won't cost you a dime.
- Bobby replies to RLConsidering that the FDCPA puts a 1 year limitation on suing a debt collector, your advice is at least 1 year too late since that person clearly posted here in 2017.
