Great post! I agree with you 100%. I cannot believe that there are no customer service phone numbers on their website, just a maze of useless information and links that get you nowhere. But you can waste hours not getting anywhere.

I didn't get a call but I had a charge with this number on it. It was for Amazon advertising services for Kindle books I published. Legit charge.

This number charged 4200 to my bank account. All fraud.

They called and said you need a hearing aid.

This number appeared as a part of a FRAUDULENT CHARGE on my credit card!  It is NOT Amazon

This number belongs to Amazon.com Customer Service. When it turned up on a credit card statement, I searched and found it was for a charge I had authorized 90 days prior. The charge in this case was for an annual subscription to Amazon Cloud Drive, a backup and storage system for my computers. They DID NOT call me, but if you see this number, check your Amazon account first.

I received this message and it is not from amazon with the attached number. Beware!

Your charge very well might be fraudulent, but the phone number isn't.   BTW, be careful you don't dial 800 instead of 866:  that's a scam number (probably to get mis-dialing Amazon customers!)

I received a call from this number asking me to verify a purchase, which I did make, and for the amount stated in the phone call. I didn't return the call, but I did check my Amazon account and credit card transactions to confirm that only the legitimate transaction went through.

Number always appear but it looks like I am paying for it monthly. Shows on my bank with drawings.

Rcd call from this phone # today.  Didn't have phone available so didn't see call until later on my phone.  No message left.  Am nervous as just ordered from Amazon a few days ago.  Order was recd @ our house.
But when order was placed they told me I signed up for Prime Time which was I was unaware of so called & had it cancelled immediately.   They said done u will not receive bill for renewal @ end of month.   This call from 866 216 1072 shortly after ordering w/Amazon & what happened as stated above begins to make me wonder if billings for "Supposed Prime Order" WILL happen mthly when indeed the lady I talked to said it cancelled.

I didn't get a call from this number. I had an unknown charge on my credit card that listed this number. It's Amazon. And I have spent the last 2 hours dealing with their Customer Service department. I was bounced around from person to person -- and still have NO IDEA what the charge is! (I think they narrowed it down to a digital movie. The only problem is... I haven't bought a digital movie from Amazon in over a year!) I am more frustrated than I can say right now. If you see a charge from them on your credit card statement, good luck with getting it resolved!

This is a scam number. I was first given 1-888-600-7030 for Amazon customer service. What they told me did not add up and I became suspicious (unfortunately it was after verifying my email and home address). They told me someone had accessed my account from three different states and charged $2.99 to the account but did not state what it was for. They then referred me to 866-216-1072 which is also a scam number, saying it was their security department. I did not call as I was suspect. I finally obtained the REAL CS number for amazon 1-888-280-4331. They verified that both above numbers are scams. If you called any of these numbers, I recommend changing email, password, use the code verify option with Amazon and change from auto pay to manually entering your account or change debit card all together. Unfortunate that scamming others is the best things some people can do with their time.

It takes about 1-2 minutes to get someone to call you. Go to Help, type "Contact Us" (no quotes) into the search box and Enter, click Support Options & Contact Us. As an option, you will see "If you want to talk to a person, Contact Us". Click Contact Us. You can find the order you have a problem with and enter it or simply scroll down to section 2 and fill in the 3 items (drop down boxes) and a Section 3 will pop up with the options to Email, Phone or Chat. If you click phone, you will see the option to call immediately. If you click that, your phone will literally start ringing as soon as you click. You will get a recording with the usual "may be recorded" stuff and then a live person. I've never had to wait more than 30 seconds or so. And they are always super nice.
