So you simply picked this number out at random to prove that it is "legit"?  It seems awfully hard to find a phone number for Amazon anymore, so what problem did you enter to prove this number is "legit"?

A Google search of this number PROVES who it belongs to in the results, but you haven't proven that every call from this number will be legitimate and you can't, can you?
People looking up the number would also find who the number belongs to and not have a reason to come here to be convinced its legitimate, would they?

Keep in mind, just because a number MIGHT be legit, doesn't mean the caller is!

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate numbers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

People who get legitimate calls would know its legitimate and have no reason to come looking up the number.
800notes is about exposing scammers, shady businesses and harassing type calls from debt collections, surveys, political and telemarketers or anyone who scams, lies or cons people.
People come to share those experiences to help each other understand who is bothering them and share what information they can to help point a finger at those criminals. The data is useful in knowing the frequency of the calls and even allow someone enough info to research towards getting a company's background history towards legal action.

The idea is to stop criminal callers, but posting about legitimate calls will not help anyone stop them. Sure people want to know who called and it could have been a legitimate call, but it only takes one post with confirmation of who the legitimate owner is to establish if its a call you can decide was legitimate for you. The fact that scammers can spoof ANY number is enough to say that even legitimate numbers have scammers who call pretending to be legitimate, so you just don't really know who is calling.

Shills will come here to post about the number being "legit" and try convincing people to answer the call so they can scam you.  So why help the criminals by posting about your call being legitimate? It has no impact on a legitimate business, only the shady ones and thats what we want to expose. Your legitimate post will only add confusion for others who read posts by those who shill about using the numbers they spoof.

866-216-1072 legit amazon service number, just called  minutes ago my wife as they fixed  the notorious "prime" scheme of $ 89.27 without my wife's knew nor consent about it. In the past i went through in the amazon.ca for way over 100 dollars, "prime membership", I freaked-out and called them and corrected it and i later canceled the amazon.ca  card and later got me on their web site on "prime" again for 89.27 .  MAKE SURE readers to check your amazon accounts.

i work for amazon. i can assure you this number is for amazon logistics.

Amazon will never ask for payment. card information. password information or other secure details on the phone other than your name.  we wont even verify your address before u do it first.

I'm speaking to a representative from this number - 1.866.216.1072 - now. I'm not sure it's amazon. The phone number is all over the web as belonging to amazon but there's one problem. It does not seem that amazon actually posted any of these numbers. It's always random persons on their website posting this number or random sites. This call is suspicious to me. I don't trust it.. This may be Amazon or it may not be. But I'm going with my gut on this one.

Did not answer call because did not recognize number. Came here and some people are connecting this number to Amazon. But in my case, Amazon does not have this particular number of mine.

If you didn't order anything from Amazon, then the call is from a scammer spoofing an Amazon customer service number. Just block it and move on.

I didn’t answer. Call went to VM. It was a strange message. No clue why they called. I looked up the number and it’s Amazon customer care.
The rep had no clue why I received a call.

Call was automatically blocked, but went to my voice mail.  They left an automated message.  The first portion was Chinese, followed by a broken-Engrish message stating that "this is Amazon dot com.  [I have] an important message. Failed to contact [me] many times check message please contact" followed by more gibberish in Chinese.
I have no outstanding orders and they don't have my number, so this is an obvious spoof of the real Amazon customer service phone number.

Voice recording said I have an important message in Amazon Prime.  I went online to check  No such message.  Scammer now blocked.

I received a voice mail from 866-216-1072 saying to call Amazon.  It was in English and what sounded like Chinese. I did not return the call.

Same happened to me!

I have a missed call almost 2 hours ago. I am an author and have books on Amazon. They've been requesting my bank check images very strongly for the past 3 months. They have been saying the royalty payments to me were denied by my bank. Never had issues sending or receiving domestic or internationally. Today, I sent them a check with my account details though they already have it when I filled out the W9 form. I do not trust them. Another # for Amazon comes up in searches. Not this one.

Verizon identifies it as possible Spam and I believe that it is fraudulent
